A couple Latino coworkers highly recommended this place. My family and I disagree with their assessment, and figure one of three things:

  1. They have a cultural bias ("It's Mexican, so it's great.")
  2. They were treated better because of race.
  3. They had a different waitstaff AND a different cook.

Speculations aside, I was not at all impressed. Coming in the door, there's no sign indicating customers should seat themselves or wait to be seated. Apparently we're supposed to seat ourselves. (Now you know.) Drinks and chips/salsa were brought promptly, and the drinks were good sized portions. Two servings of chips and salsa were adequate for six people. The food took an average amount of time, but struggles to reach even mediocre quality. Rice was dry, tortillas tasted off, gordita was flavorless unless you count "greasy" as a flavor. Salsa for the chips was runny with tiny chunks. Enchiladas were decent, but not great. Two days later, I'm finding out just how bad the food actually was. You don't want details. Price came to about $60 for four adults and two children. That puts it in the range of "average to slightly expensive". Considering the portions were average by American standards, and of a quality described above, they're not worth the price. This earns them three stars. The lack of service coming in the door lost them one. My recommendation? Find someplace else to eat. A friend mentioned to me that place should not be on the 78....

I am currently giving a 1 star and wish I could give a negative 1 star. I happen to have a taste for Mexican food and decided to dine here. I walked in with one other person and took a seat at table 20. The establishment was busy but no busier than it normally is. We sat down at 115pm . The only reason I know the time is bc the couple sitting behind us announced the time they had been there. I picked my seat and were not sitting in a hidden spot or out of eyesight. The sad part is that more than one waitress saw us heck even made eye contact with us, yet no one came to our table but went to every table around us. It wasn't that busy to where we should not have been acknowledged. Especially considering the wait staff were gathered (where they put the food for the waitress coming from the back) chatting possibly waiting for orders to come out. Now it's 135 pm and still no one has come to our table to offer water, chips, salsa... nothing. So, I do know they have a sign that states they have the right to refuse service to anyone. So I asked Eticka who said she was managing if service was being denied to our table as to why we had not been served, and of course, that wasn't the case because there was no reason not to service us. Yet we received no service. Erika stated she was the manager but could not be of any help due to not being able to speak English....

Who ever that man that was working cash register on December 15th 2020 6pm-7:pm needs to be fired!!! Im 17 and i wanted to take my family out to eat from my first paycheck. We always order what we usually order and its always the same price $77.56. When i went to go pay he charged me $93 the first time. I told my dad we added and calculated everything including drinks and taxes and we did not tip and everything came out to what we always pay! When we went back in he said he messed up on a drink he told us our order out loud and calculated with us and the total was $77.56 he pointed at it and then he pressed another button and it came out to 90.00. And gave me only 3$ back from a drink he claims he messed up on. Im highly upset just because i am younger he decided to tip himself and i wouldnt know or whatever the case maybe. We always order the same thing we never changed anything about our order and while we was waiting for our food the waiter came back with 2 plates that wasnt from our order and went back to get ...

The breakfast tacos are amazing. Yesterday, I had a carne guisada w/cheese and a barbacoa taco. My husband had pastor tacos. We really enjoyed the tacos that we went back the very next morning on our way back home to Fort Worth. This time I only got a carne guisada w/cheese taco, my husband a pastor taco and my granddaughter had a bacon and egg taco. The bacon and egg had a lot of bacon. The carne guisada was very cheesy and very good. Perfectly made that the meat just breaks apart perfectly in your mouth as you’re eating it. The tacos are a decent size so if you don’t eat much one taco should be enough. I live in Fort Worth and the carne guisada there is not like the carne guisada in San Antonio so Let’s just say I don’t order it anymore. So I really look forward to eating carne guisada every time I come to visit family in San Antonio. Enjoy!

Love this place! My family and I are frequent visitors. We love the Monday and Tuesday specials, the tacos, and #2 plate with the most delicious cactus. The owners are from the same town as my parents, so they have similar cooking styles/recipes. Service is great, I only gave 4 stars because they're constantly switching out the waitresses and the newer ones are a little slow and sometimes overcharge you on things like drinks even though they come with the specials, which has happened about 5 or 6 times out of maybe 50 times that we've gone. Overall, I recommend dining in or pick up. Fair warning, you'll become addicted to their sweet tea!

Saturday around 2:45 PM. Walked In first time, not busy. Found a seat, immediately a waitress was at the table taking my drink order. Ordered a barbacoa burrito, side guacamole, jalapenos. She promptly served me chips and salsa, drink too. Food arrived about 7 minutes later. Flavorful burrito. Guacamole was also very good, peppers too. Salsa verde was good. Overall a great lunch. Waitress was attentive at table 2, LOL!! You pay at the register and provide the table number. Good system! I will comeback to try different choices on a huge menu!
