Man, oh man how I really wanted to give this place 5 stars insert sad face First of all, I will start off by saying I cannot believe this was my first time ever eating at Joy Love Burger -WOW!
A few of my friends have raved about the burgers here so I decided to give it a try. I ordered their Cheeseburger w/a side of onion rings. The food was amazingly good. The service was very quick, customer service was great, very friendly staff and the food was fresh. The onion rings were tasty and crispy. Everything a girl as hungry as I was at the time could ask for, except for ONE THING... the fountain drink machine!
After I placed my order, I walked over to the drink machine and boy was it FILTHY DIRTY. When I say filthy, I mean filthy. Old splashes of drink syrup was all over the machine, something so easy to remove if someone just took the time (maybe 5 mins) to make fresh warm cleaning water and wiped it down. Old dried-up soda syrup left in the bottom of tray (gross). Listen, I know things like this get dirty daily, but this was not your average dirty drink machine - now there were obvious signs of normal wear and tear, but it was obvious that the syrup gunk has been here for well over 6 months. I said to myself that if this is what the outside looked like, I KNOW FOR SURE the inside of the machine must be worse. So of course, I attempted to opt-in on their tea machine (which is separate from the fountain drinks) and that too was disgusting (wowzers). So, well let's just say that by the end of my meal my throat was extremely DRY. :(
Lesson learned - always check out the fountain machine before...
Read moreMy wife decided to let me try Joy Love Burger because she liked it and i never tried it before. I loved the flavors on my burger. Could have used a touch of salt which I added. My cheese looked like it evaporated away on the burger. I dont know how but there were holes in the cheese where you could see the patty. Like it was newked in the microwave or left under a lid on the griddle way too long. Bacon, tomato, avocado were perfect, but I got all white parts of the iceberg lettuce. Loved my toppings on my steak fries but the fries were way too soggy. My wife also ordered some chili cheese fries and got curly fries with nothing on them instead. They were also very soggy. Check your food order yourself when you pick up your order. I checked everything but her fries. My mistake. Everything else was made to order so figured the 4th co tanner had the chili fries. Who messes that up. Well it's these guys. Probably not all the time, but I got lucky. Ha!! Another good hint, 4 Togo Containers in one bag is too much. I couldnt tie the bag shut. So unless you want to have them slide all over your car ask for a second bag. My wife ordered this order at 12:30 and had it set for 5:45 pick up. I picked it up right at 5:45 on time. Don't know why we had soggy fries. Yuck! I would give them a 4 star review, but for messing up her fries and giving us both soggy fries plus the vaporized cheese I give them 3 stars. Don't forget to check over your WHOLE order or you may get something you didn't order and miss out on what you had a...
Read moreMy family and I live about an hour west of the Katy location. We decided to make the drive after work on a Friday evening to try it out. We arrived at 7pm, not knowing they closed at 8. Given that it’s a burger joint, however, we assumed an hour was plenty of time to eat.
We were wrong.
We finally got to order at 7:15, and we did not receive our food until 8:03pm, despite several people who arrived after us getting their food before we did.
Regardless, we just hoped it was worth the wait. After all, 50 minutes, is an incredibly long wait.
As soon as we sat down with our food, an employee approached us and said “Just to let you know, we’re closed.”
I explained to him that we drove an hour to get here, and they took 50 minutes to get our order out, and we would appreciate the opportunity to enjoy our meal after spending $60 and almost an hour waiting. The employee sarcastically said “Enjoy” and walked off.
I’m not going to pretend like the food wasn’t exquisite. It was absolutely outstanding. One of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time, and the “Crazy Fries” were amazing. But the service was far too slow, they close down too early for a Friday night in my opinion, and I felt that after making us wait almost an hour to receive a $60 meal, the least they could’ve done is allow us a few minutes to enjoy our burgers in peace. Perhaps I’m just entitled, but there are a lot of good burgers in Katy, Texas and many of them provide a superior service and experience than what we received...
