Kina’s Unique Sweets, LLC — Restaurant in Texas

This was some of the freshest and most flavorful soul food I've had in Houston! We ordered smothered pork chop plates and a wing plate. Everything and I mean everything was well seasoned and cooked well. My only con was the size of the pork chop on this plate. It was the smallest and thinnest pork chop I've ever gotten from a restaurant...And especially from a soul food restaurant where portion sizes are usually so big you have leftovers. The amount of pork given was almost like a small lunch plate. This is the only thing I would like to see them improve. Competitors in the area and city wide are giving much more. Lastly, the mac and cheese is not your typical baked mac. It was macaroni pasta noodles in a cajun like cheese sauce. It wasn't bad but I don't need to get it again. Oh the fried okra was the best I've ever had! It came out piping hot and the batter on the outside is seasoned so well. I will be back to to try other items...

When I am tired but need REAL food! I will come here from now on. Everything is good!

Update: Everytime i ordered I spend almost $100 I have been there about 8 times since April 2024. The food is good. However 1 time they left off a plate that costs $20 off Uber eats. They acted as if I was lying after convincing me not to report it. I only go here to support a black owned business. I will not ever come back. They were treating me like I was criminal for their mistake. It breaks my heart because I work hard and I drive far to help them. I believe in God. I have prayed while there that God bless them. If I have been there spending $1k about I don’t think I deserve to be treated bad. I will not ever go back. Asking me questions because I put my hood on to cover my head from the rain? Hands down best sweets I’ve ever tasted! I’m actually a savory snacker so I thought it would be to sweet! But it actually has the perfect balance! If you didn’t know I’m talking about the the pecan praline Bundt cake! Everyone should know about it already! Her designer cakes are amazing also! You usually sacrifice taste for the way that it looks but not in this instance! The cake is moist and flavorful not to mention beautiful! Last but not least I love her caramel wrapped chocolate dipped pretzels I had some and literally could not stop eating them! I’m reviewing so many items because I use her for every event in my life..Showers, receptions even work events so I have had the honor of tasting all kinds of stuff!
