I've seen a number of poor/bad reviews for this location; especially for this year. I was in humble this morning dropping my husband off for work so I decided; "I Love KK and this location is the Closest location to where we live(conroe) so I am going to stop by!" Got there a little after 8am, there were donuts coming through the glaze machine on the conveyer belt as other batches were being made. It wasn't busy (not surprised due to the time). The place was clean, counters tidy, neat; the place that holds the straws etc was well stocked; and there was a very nice assortment of donuts to choose from on display. The young lady greeted me with a bright and cheery smile then asked me if I would care to have a free sample glaze donut hot off the conveyer belt. I said "Yes please" and OOohhhh..... Just as I remembered them being!! Soft, melt in your mouth and delicious! I then had to laugh because I knew I was going to come away with way more donuts than I had planned but.. Hey; I have learned that KK donuts freeze well and warm up just as well too :) so win/win in my book! I asked the young lady about this new donut I had seen on the website; a cream filled regular glaze donut (not the typical fill style no hole donuts) and the type of cream in them as well as how they got a filling into the regular donuts in the first place. She pulled out the tray with the chocolate cream filled and showed me the bottom of the donut which had the fluffy whipped cream filling oozing out a bit and said, it's a Bavarian cream style filling, comes in chocolate and the regular white vanilla and we have a machine that has multiple prongs that we put the donut onto and it fills it that way instead of the way the other filled donuts are filled so there's multiple holes in it instead of one or two. I found that really cool and interesting and the young lady was well versed in how the donuts were filled as well as the kind of filling that was used too! I ended up walking out with a total of 2doz donuts lol 1 Doz of the regular glaze and then 4 each of the chocolate and white filling glazed donuts as well as 4 glazed donuts with chocolate glaze on them too. The glazed were pulled fresh off the conveyer and not from the tray (and tbh, I didn't mind if she had pulled them from the trey since I was going to be freezing them anyway lol) so, yeah I don't know if it's simply the times that the other reviewers who have had posted their bad experiences have been; or what but, I for one was very happy with my service and because I had purchased so many donuts and it was my first time at their location the young lady even gave me a small discount as a thank you for choosing their location. Will I go back? Yep if I happen to be near that location I sure will! Will I recommend it to Friends/Family; Again yes! I post reviews for a number of authors who I get ARC copies in exchange for my honest reviews, notes etc. I don't believe in posting poor reviews unless the place truly deserves it but I will also point out areas of improvement if needs be too. For the moment, I will stick with my 5 star review! However if I go back and have a bad service or experience I will post a new review stating accordingly too. So in my opinion, it's up to "you" who reads the reviews to decide to take a chance or not. Now if ONLY KK would build another location...Closer to Conroe..like say The Woodlands or Spring even??...
Read moreThe doughnuts here are great especially when hot. I've had some pleasant encounters especially with a baker passing out free glazed doughnuts while you wait in line. My only qualm would be that the service has been hit or miss.I want to give this location at least 4 stars, but I can't due to this reason. I've been several times since it opened for my house, work, and for company visiting and there has been some good visits and others that were just OK. When the donuts are fresh, it's great, but there has been times when none are coming out and the donuts are not fresh. For the most part the employees have been kind and one of the bakers in particular has excellent customer service. There are some employees who are not rude, but just very non chalant. The one time I went through the drive through, the cashier forgot part of my order after assuring me it was there. The lines run very slowly and they are still trying to figure out the register which is a big part of the slow line. I hope things get better with time or this could easily be just another donut shop in the area.
Update: I want to add that unless you are inside (not drive thru) while The Hot Now button is illuminated and watch them come off the belt and into your box, don't expect hot doughnuts. I watched the employees pre box dozens of glazed and keep them at the window. Yes, this is great to keep the line moving, but not good for those expecting hot doughnuts. We went again on Sunday as my grandma is staying with us and likes the doughnuts here and we waited in a line for several minutes because though there was not a long line, the employee did not know how to use the register. There was 1 employee taking orders in line and 1 employee at the register. The employee taking orders was slow, but efficient enough. When we finally got up to the register, I felt terrible for the girl as she obviously did not feel comfortable on the register. The "Buy One, Get One Free Dozen" on the app has been heavily promoted and she had no idea how to use it. She looked around at others for help and went and stood by someone, but not sure she ever asked them for help or if they offered it. It appeared she just went to stand hoping someone would offer help. After several minutes and holding up the line, she looked so frustrated to the point of tears, she said to just pay for the one. That's great for me that I would not be held up any longer than the 10 minutes we had stood at the register, but not so much for the company. I still have the coupon on the app since she couldn't figure out how to use it and if I were not an honest person, I'd go back in and use it. When I asked her if they declined to help her, she said that they looked busy with drive thru. Truly hoping this place gets it together. I am not one to say that this is expected from a bunch of young employees because at 15 I waited tables with a great attitude and at 16 I worked for Subway and provided excellent service. Read moreI’m not a doughnut guy, I have never had Krispy Kreme. For whatever reason I had an overwhelming need to try one. A) drove nearly 30 minutes out of our way; okay I understand that’s the business model no problem B) only car in drive thru on a Tuesday morning, the drive-thru attendant was extremely frustrating to start the visit, rude and short, almost condescending with a very large side of rushing. Literally first experience at the business and no courtesy of taking it all in or being acknowledgeable C) the order of “donut dots” says a different price with order of a dozen, which yes in retrospect “a dozen donuts” makes sense however that’s not what it says it says “with purchase of dozen” to my inference which could have easily been remedied with friendly interactions, seemed as though it meant a dozen “donut dots” because they are listed at 10 or 24? Which is odd considering it’s typically 12, “a dozen donut holes” very confusing ESPECIALLY for first time customers D) we downloaded their app because honestly a lot of them are worth the rewards, well “their system has been down since Saturday” okay again, understand, it happens, no apology or interaction to offer to use the reward from drive through girl, just that we can upload a receipt, wasn’t until I brought up the issues that the manager said well if you show me I can use it, pretty aggressively and then gave me the reward donut and even more aggressively said “thank you!” E) My wife and I were also excited to get hot chocolate because they advertise that it’s Ghirardelli’s, well they also did not have any of that nor an apology. Here we are now on problem 5, with probably some of the worst customer service I have experienced from a higher end more “elite” fast food enterprise. Needless to say, I won’t be going back and certainly not to this location.
P.S. not even worth the hype or price, cold donuts served...
