Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Texas

After a bad experience with a Popeyes in Vegas (overcooked shrimp and stale fries) I chose to never try it again. We were getting our vehicles inspected a few doors down and the hubby wanted lunch. He is very opposed to the neighboring fast food place with the same name as that blue hedgehog with the running shoes so we walked past them to this Popeyes.

I ordered the famous chicken sandwich to see what the hype was all about. Hubby ordered the 3pc chicken combo. Both meals came with the cajun fries. I will admit the sandwich really didn't look that appealing. In fact, it just reminded me of the chick fill eh sandwhich. I decided to still give it a try. Now, I'm a huge fan of chicken sandwiches and I never thought anyone could top my all time favorite from that place with the little redheaded girl whose Dad's name is Dave but this sandwich was pretty dang good. I was very impressed. It was fresh, juicy and cooked perfect. The fries were amazing and hubby gave me a piece of his biscuit which puts that colonel guy's biscuits to shame!

The staff were friendly, and the service was nice and fast for it being the middle of lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was pretty clean with ample seating.

You tell him what you want in your order three times, and they still get it wrong. Here is an update 05/15/2025 Beware they false advertise their prices and blame everything on the CORPORATE office and NEVER take responsibility for their mistakes. I ordered the 8-piece family pack, and it was on the menu priced at 25.99 when I looked at my receipt, they charged 28.99 and I asked the manager why they charged me more than what was on the menu board, he said it was CORPORATE'S fault that they haven't changed the price on the board yet. I said then why didn't you tell me the price was higher when I ordered. His LAME excuse was, " well sometimes we get busy and forget to tell people". I saw 3 people before me, and they all got over charged. Okay 3 dollars is not much, but when you do that to 200 to 400 or more orders a day that adds up. He did not even offer to give me the advertised price, I asked for his CORPORATE OFFICE Phone number, and I called and was on hold for more than 40 minutes only to be told by a foreign owned company that they can't do anything that only the manager can file a complaint. Absolutes WORST customer service ever. Ordered on line. Got there 2 minutes after order was due and they had not even started preparing it. Counter person said “oh we just got this”. However the receipt was laying right in the counter. Only one car in drive through, one other customer in the store. Waited a full 13 minutes for order to do ready. During that time a boy came in asking for an application. It was almost 8 minutes before he was even acknowledged and then the kid begins the counter tried to ring application up in the register. It wasn’t until the other customer in the store stepped in and said “He just wants a job application” that anyone decided to get an application. When I was finally handed my food I asked if she was the manager. She stated she wasn’t but was in charge. I asked what the purpose of the app is if I still have to wait 13 minutes with no customers was. She shoved my food at me and said “There’s your food”. I asked again. She again shoved the bag at me. I asked to see the manager she stated she wasn’t there. I asked for the managers name and she said she didn’t have to give me anything.
