This one is by far the best Colombian restaurant in Houston. I have gone to each one in town and all I have found is disappointment. However Risaralda Bakery blew my mind and exceeded my expectations. The aesthetic and decor captures 100% the Colombian vibe, It is simple, yet well illuminated with natural light, the music is at a good volume, not too loud. It is simple, yet clean and classy. The front is full of fresh to go snacks and pastries in a cute showroom that evoques traditional neighborhood little stores in Colombia. The food really captures the original flavors that we as Colombians are used to. I can tell they don’t take shortcuts in the recipe or mess it up with other countries flavors. Prices are very reasonable, the tables are set up with all the condiments and sauces we are used to in America. They are up to the standard in every aspect. I’d like to see live music/ musicians playing while we eat or drink to compliment the experience. The customer service is prime, they are clean cut, very attentive and prompt to attend your requests. For the first time I will bring my extended American side of my family to this place. Since it represents our culture in a...
Read moreI've been coming to this place for years. However, the service today was horrible. First of all they brought us our hot chocolate almost after we placed our order. Everything went fine. Then it took them about 25 minutes to bring our order. Rice for both of my elderly parents were uncooked and on top of that, my mom's came with hair! I must add that I requested to talk to the manager (owner) they say no problem but that we needed to wait 45 minutes before he could take care of us. I told them I couldn't wait that time and I ask for my bill, then he came out and he didn't even care, apologized or show any willingness to solve the incident. He was more worried about his dough. I understand, there are some good days and bad days when it comes to business, and food may not always be delicious, however, a business owner must always be willing to attend a customer request. My business may not mean a thing for them but it is sad they have lost a long time customer, and I won't be recommending this place to anybody. Customer service is not a department, it is...
Read moreI was quite pleased with the initial discovery of what I believed to be an excellent Empanada restaurant. My first two orders were truly delightful. On both occasions, I ordered 15 chicken Empanadas and 15 beef Empanadas, and each one contained a substantial amount of filling. Regrettably, I cannot offer the same positive assessment of today's order. Typically, the chicken Empanadas are easily distinguishable from the beef ones, but today, I found it impossible to tell them apart, which was my first indication of a problem. Furthermore, as I began to eat them, one contained bits of beef with an abundance of potato, while the other, which was supposed to be chicken, was more like mashed potatoes with small pieces of chicken. It felt as though I was consuming fried bread with mashed potatoes. I was utterly disappointed with the food, and it goes without saying that I will not be ordering from this establishment again, as the food went straight into the trash. It is disheartening to witness a decline in quality in an effort to...
