Hands down the worst Caribbean/African Restaurant in the state of Texas. When I last called in a to go order, I had a busy day...the lady that answered the phone informed me that the food will be ready for pick-up in 20 min. I arrived after 25 min only to wait an Additional 30 minutes because they had not even prepared/cooked the food. After arriving home, I found that the goat meat to be hard as a brick--possibly cooked from earlier that morning (noon hour) and wanted to just get rid of it before they closed for the day knowing that the food was spoiled/hard. To put the icing on the cake, the lady behind the cash register did not tell me the grand total of my meals, only stated, "Credit Card" and I had to ask her what was the total cost. After paying she did not say thank you and of course this is the period of when she expected a "tip". Ha. No apologies whatsoever. There are many many other African eateries in the area/Houston and from now on I will drive 30+ min to get a decent meal with excellent customer service. The sad thing about this place is that I have visited frequently in the past because I live across the street but never again. Why charge premium prices for low quality service and...
Read moreI don’t know where to begin. I was happy to find out there was a Nigerian restaurant around the corner from me but unfortunately I will not be going back. I ordered the rice and stew with beef to go. When I got home, I opened the container to find only 4 pieces of small beef with a mountain of parboiled rice on the side. I was very disappointed because I don’t appreciate paying almost $20 dollars for rice. Now for the taste, it was horrible! The beef taste like it was washed or soaked in water for long periods of time because it was flavorless. The stew taste premade out of the jar and not to mention it tasted more like a tomato soup. As far as the service, the little lady was nice but needless to say I won’t be returning. I will just patronize the Nigerian restaurants on the Southwest side although they are distance from me.
Edit: Also I thrown the food away because it was just disgusting. I had 4 bites and trash the rest. Forgot to...
Read moreThe wife and I were looking for some good African food and found this place because it was one of the two closets places. The other place we'd tried to go to a couple of times was either never open or closing when we got there despite having hours that stated otherwise. So Royal Arm it was even though it was 25 minutes away. But I'm GLAD we made the trek because the food was amazing!
Nothing is under a heat lamp and it is cooked right when you order it. The food was so good, I was eating off my plate and my wife's plate! And somehow, 15 minutes in, my food was STILL hot enough to burn my mouth. Everything was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection and the service was great! If you are craving some good West African cuisine in Katy (or anywhere in the Houston arwa), you can't miss...
