Hunan Garden Baobae — Restaurant in Katy

My wife and I normally drive to Bellville and eat at the Golden Pagoda as they have great wonton soup and food. We just found Hunan Garden Baobae and decided to try it. The wonton soup was like what we had in Bellville, more than just broth and a wonton. It had strips of pork and cabbage and green onion. The crabpuff was nice and fat with cheese, not the flat ones that most restaurants serve and the egg roll was very tasty. I had kung pao chicken and beef and was very good, next time will order with more spice/heat. The waiter was very friendly and checking to make sure we had everything we needed. Was sad that our go too Chinese spot (fortune village) closed and super happy another great place took their spot, same location and phone number… maybe just renamed, not sure but I am sure the food is awesome! I ate the Lo Mein, egg roll , and steamed pork dumplings. Everything was flavorful, tasting great! My wife ordered the 8 treasures chicken, hot and sour soup, she said it was good, I ate a few bites and it was! The chicken was mild-med spicy and the soup not bland, ha that’s a good thing! What a wonderful discovery! Everything was perfect from the greeting, seating, eating and very hospitable service.

I had the Seafood noodle soup and Shrimp fried rice. Both were delicious and plentiful. Even in 100+ degree weather, I still love soups and this soup will have me back for more.

The shrimp fried rice was cooked perfectly! Not steamed rice with soy sauce but actually fried and plenty of shrimp.

The Owner and the young lady who took great care to be sure we were satisfied and yes we were.
