I absolutely adore almost all the food I’ve ordered from Hasta La Pasta. If I haven’t, it’s probably only because it’s not my taste. I’ve ordered only ONE thing that ppl love that wasn’t particularly for me.
That being said, I think the communication over the phone could improve some. DoorDash is great but they do not allow any special orders on that site and that seems to be a restaurant decision. It can be frustrating for me because I have certain sensory issues and I need things a certain way. I also order a LOT of food when I get things delivered, so it’s very expensive.
At least 3x I’ve called the restaurant immediately after I place an order on DoorDash to ask them for minor things. The past 3 times something was missing. Once I didn’t receive my side salad… not at all a huge deal in general. But when I called to ask if they could give me a coupon or anything at all they couldn’t do much. They said if have to come pick it up. Wellll… That’s ok. It’s just a salad. I didn’t order out though to have to go out and get it, haha, that’s silly. But I LOVE and look forward to the Caesar salads. I’d DEFINITELY order it as a meal to be delivered if I thought they’d give me what I wanted as far as dressing is concerned.
But not many ppl understand Sjögren’s syndrome which basically means my mucosal glands are attacked and honestly just I need more dressings and sauces on my food and water next to me just so I can swallow food. I always call right after I place the order and this is the 3rd time they haven’t done what they said they’d do. I just wanted one extra dressing with each side salad which they said they’d do when I called.
Again, I LOVE their food! It’s incredible!!! AND I love this particular establishment. In person, wonderful service and wonderful food and a fantastic experience! I wouldn’t be writing this review at all unless I planned on ordering from there again. Can you please just add extra dressing to your menu? That wld be amazing!! :-)
I just wish that when I ordered through DoorDash and make the extra effort to call and ask for something small that they’d follow through… bc the site says they refuse to. Other restaurants I order from definitely do. Russo’s is also great but I like...
Read moreWe have lived in Cinco for over 35yrs. I’ll just say we have frequented this location for many years. Due to service and experience, we have visited the Champions location for a change. This Katy location needs to get their crew and service on the same page, Front and Back being the kitchen is open view. No one should be entering your facility and be standing at your front door/register for more than 5 minutes let alone 10min and beyond and not be acknowledged with multiple employees just walking by. I even had time to go outside to my vehicle and come back and still not a peep of a Greeting. A patron should not no have to get anyone’s ones attention-especially when 7 ppl have either walked by or seen you standing there waiting. With that said, the young gentleman that I did get to assist was at least eager to help once he realized/ he did state he thought I’d been helped to his regard. I asked who the manager was- he went to get him-but I did not want to speak, Injust wanted the name and my order honestly -being they all just stood there and looked at me .Secondly whomever the lady is-pulled back bun hair/glasses is very rude. This has not been the first instance of her glares or shortness in speak. Trust it’s not a language barrier, she’s just rude, you can see it a mile away. I’m not sure what types of experiences the establishment has had, but if someone wants to pay for an order over the phone, it should be that simple. Everyone else does it, save your policy and accommodate your patrons. As well APPLEPAY would be a swift streamline suggestion. I would like to think you’d like to secure the funds ahead- especially if it’s a large order. Other than that, the location was clean but lacking vibe in general . A lovely family had a dinner and were there which brought some light to the visit. Other than that the food as well was not the usual…..oily it seemed and vinegary. I’m just going to stop here, but I feel definitely this needed to be expressed. I’ll just say I’ve managed large scale to include one of your neighboring restaurants, so I hate to complain- I’m not a YELPer nor do I want to cause anyone a bad day or termination or for them to get in trouble of...
Read moreI have not been back to this restaurant in many years (5+). The food was good many years ago...as I remember. Not the case anymore. Service was good. Had an early dinner 5:30 pm on a Monday. Appetizer: Toasted Ravioli - nice presentation...but kind of bland...totally forgettable; Tomato sauce was watery and lacked flavor. Entree: a) Mom ordered the Di Mare- The dish came to the table. You could smell it before it arrived. It smelled of rotten shellfish. HORRIBLE! Should have known better than to order a fish dish on a Monday. Never again! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan - The chicken cutlet was obviously left over from lunch service. It was cold, tough and dry It appeared the cook put mozzarella on it and melted it slightly under the broiler (trying to cover up the sub par product). Again the tomato was watery and lacked flavor. The penne was obviously pre-cooked and finished a la minute and the watery sauce did not cling to the penne. Kids meals were the highlight of the dinner: Spaghetti and meatball was pretty good but again the tomato sauce was terrible. Pizza was good...no complaints. Dessert: Mom ordered the Key Lime Pie and my daughter ordered the cheesecake. The crust on both of these were about 3/4" - 1" thick. I typically think the crust is the best part of these type of desserts but it was too thick and did not appear to be fresh. Also it took almost 20-25 minutes after ordering. Usually these types of desserts do not take long to plate as they are not made a la minute.
To Hasta La Pasta management: Please pay attention to what the kitchen is sending to the customer. First 3 rules in the kitchen: 1) Taste 2) Taste 3) Taste. Quality check by the manager don't tell you everything. BTW...the manager asked how the food was 30 seconds after it arrived to the table...obviously no time to even take a bite...as if she was just programmed to go through her checklist...without a care. SMH We left unsatisfied to never return...
