We went here last night for the first time. I live nearby and was curious since it always seems to busy. It was raining and Fiesta last night so it was a lot less busy but I really like it. The outside area has picnic tables with giant trees that provide a lot of shade, which will be nice on a summer afternoon. They do not allow smoking inside but they do on the front porch, which for me is great. I hate smoke. Bar staff was awesome and kept the drinks coming. Drinks were reasonable. Beers between $2 and $3 all night. They also have mixed drink specials but I didn't notice the prices. Bathrooms are clean, two stalls for the ladies room. There's one or two pool tables, which were used all night. It's not a fancy place by a long shot but I still really really like it. It's one of those places where you will get to know the staff and they will remember your name. I wore denim capris and a nice top and flip flops. One girl had on a sundress. Another had on jeans. Men in polos, tee shirts, jeans. Non pretentious and relaxed atmosphere. The crowd seems to be very local to the neighborhood surrounding us, but I could be wrong. Upper 20's to 50ish crowd. I'm 38 and felt comfortable. Parking is awful though, which is really the only downside. If you get there early on a busy night be prepared to be blocked in by double parkers. Some people park down the street, but be careful crossing Potranco and don't get towed. Ask the bartenders and they will tell you where to park. There was a DJ there last night and I wasn't too crazy about his work but from what I understand they have really great rock bands there on Friday nights. I think the music was too loud last night. Because there was not a big crowd the music just felt way too loud for the space. They have Texas Hold'em night. And I think Thursday is Karaoke night.
I will most definitely be back. We had a...
Read moreI normally do not post reviews but tonight I was flat out disgusted by the treatment I received from the bartender tonight. Upon receiving my drink, I asked the gentleman bartender (and I use this term loosely) if the bar provided military discounts. He said no. I thought that was rather odd as I explained to him that the bartender from the previous night had given me a discount. He nastily said something to the affect that he was the manager, and he doesn't give military discounts. So, I let it go and went on about my night. Upon my time to leave, I asked him for my tab so I could close out. He moved about taking his sweet time. So I asked for my tab again as I was ready to leave. He said it doesn't seem like it since you still have a drink. I said, yes, I am ready. I could care less about a $1 discount; I'm more concerned with how I was treated as a customer. I would never treat my customer, Veteran or not, the way he treated me this evening. If I could rate him less than a zero, I would! I hope his mother is never...
Read moreNow, if youâre looking for a hole in the wall bar, this place is pretty cool. At night there is a more of a younger crowd thatâs rowdy, weâre not really into that because weâre older people however, the drinks are made well when they are given to you and the owner is the best person. He is so sweet and he offers you food. What a generous thought to do for your customers. I canât always say the same about the bartenders. Every time we go in there there is a bartender. Really nice and attentive and are meant to be bartenders others look like they hate being there and they barely give you any customer service until you ask. I need to start getting the bartenders names that way I can complement the ones that are actually...
