Good BBQ this is NOT! An edible meal when my hubby has a meeting there, maybe? We are accustomed to ordering our Smoked BBQ Briskett sliced very lean and very thin. You can not order Briskett lean or thin here. Why? Well they cook it all with all the fat on it and then it falls to pieces like a rump roast when you try to slice it. Seriously, I'm very unsure if they are using a Briskett cut and not actually trying to smoke a cheaper roast cut??? Any other place that serves BBQ is able to slice it thin and lean. When you ask them to re-cut it they cop an attitude. They take pride in the fact thier juicy meat falls apart when you cut it. It is not something you look for in Briskett. It only does this because of the cheap fatty cut of meat they use in the first place. It does NOT even have a smokey BBQ flavor. An actual crock pot roast would actually taste better. There really isn't not very good BBQ in Houston. But all of the others are better than Spring Creek. Hickory Hollow is good. As is Rudy BBQ. Some like Larry's and Big Daddies for all you can eat but they are no better than any other buffet. Even Spring Creeks all you can eat veggies suck. The mac n cheese is over cooked much with no flavor, the beans lack flavor as does the corn and all of it really! They do have good deserts and great dinner rolls. The sauce isn't bad either. But I'd rather never eat at Spring Creek. The way they treat people is also very lacking. I don't understand the extra sauce comment though. They have it on the bar to serve yourself? If you like being over charged for lack luster food then this is your place. If you want BBQ go up the road to Goode Company (also good) at 290/Hwy. 6 or any other place...
Read moreJust trying to provide constructive feedback so hopefully the owner/manager takes action. I believe they have the "mom & pop restaurant" syndrome where they want to keep control of everything or nickel and dime you on items. Just remember you're in Texas where there are plenty of BBQ restaurants.
(1) Most BBQ placed weigh the meats before serving, in this place it is an "estimate" from the server and I usually get more food for my dollar in other reputable (non-cheap) places. (2) Why are the kids chairs by the entrance instead of by the tables to make it more accessible to customers? (3) Why are all the side items like pickles, jalapeños, and most importantly the BBQ sauces by the serving line where customers need to go back to it and interrupt other customers? I believe the BBQ sauce needs to be requested so it is not self-serve, really? Not having BBQ sauces readily available in a BBQ restaurant is like going to a Mexican restaurant and not having salsa. All these "cheap" items need to be in an open refrigerated table in the dinning area for customers to serve themselves. Make it easy for them! (4) Lastly, really work on your customer service and don't fight customers over all these little sides. The customer service is not terribly bad but it is not great. As you might know getting new customers is 6 times more expensive the keeping existing ones.
Let's be honest, your BBQ plates are not the best in town so at least try to compensate with the aforementioned items. Trust me, people will drive miles just to have a great eating experience even if the food is not the...
Read moreUNBELIEVABLE, not only did the MANAGER who’s name is DARRYL hang up on me when I was literally calling to speak to him concerning my order, just to basically tell him I wasn’t upset that I sat outside and waited for exactly 20 minutes for my food that was ready in 10 minutes (according to the app). Not that my drink was overflowing and had Coke all over the top of the lid or the fact that when I brought it to the girls attention, she simply dumped it out and handed it to me, which was so disgusting. No straws, no napkins no manners. I was literally just calling to say maybe some front of the house training could help his employees . And to ask for his help with the points on my spring creek app..
But the fact that the STORE MANAGER DARRYL was so incredibly rude, unprofessional and of low quality character tells me thats why his employees think it’s ok to treat the customers in that fashion. I cannot believe DARRYL is the MANAGER of this neighborhood restaurant..
Customer service has really downgraded since covid, as has the quality of employees in the service industry. I’m ashamed that my son’s school spirit night is held here. I for one will NEVER spend another penny at this low class low level restaurant.
Generally speaking I’m a huge supporter of our local businesses, but this experience today was so incredibly disappointing and inappropriate.. Ugh. I’ll definitely be reaching out to corporate concerning DARRYL.
AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF. THE FOOD WAS COLD, DRY AND DISGUSTING WHEN I...
