SUNRISE DONUTS — Restaurant in Texas

Today was my first time visiting Sunrise Donuts...and my last! I have drove by many times since they are located like 2 mins down the road. I stopped in around 8am, they were not busy the case was stocked with donuts. The lady behind the counter was not friendly, borderline rude. I was asking what some of the donuts were since this huge case had a bunch of donuts, but mainly just the same donut. She didn't seem to know or want to take the time to tell me...and they were not busy. I will explain....glaze donuts with different types of colored frosting with sprinkles...I ordered a dozen, but was having trouble picking out 12 donuts. The donuts that were not glazed with frosting/sprinkles on them. When I said Oh, I'll try the raspberry filled. You can't have that in your dozen...only these. That's charged separately....So, the few different donuts they had that were not the same as almost the entire case. I had to purchase separately.....so the raspberry filled are not pre-filled they take them in the back and did a sloppy job of partially filling them through the top. So I finally ended up ordering a dozen donuts and 3 donuts that I had to pay for separate, and I got a breakfast burrito that was dry. So, $20 dollars later...I get my donuts and leave, I get home and I am looking at the donuts and trying to figure out what did I just pay for exactly? The donuts for fresh made that early in the morning were dry too, did not taste good either. Nobody wanted to eat them..they were that bad. Basically a lot of donuts with pieces broken off to try and not finishing them. what a waste of my time and money! I am all about supporting small businesses, but I would not...

Servi e in the drive through is fine, nothing exceptional. Donuts are donuts and are good. My biggest issue is with the hot offerings. Kolaches have been stale, even in the early morning making me think they were from the day before. Crossaint sandwiches are cold with a funny taste in the sausage. Cheese inside small pigs is old and coagulated. When fresh the bread is good but we rarely get fresh ones anymore. They used to be our "go to" but seem to have gone down hill in the past year prompting this review.

I am not expecting anything amazing from a donut shop but it doesn't live up to my already low standards for...

Sunrise Donuts is a hole-y amazing spot for any doughnut lover! Their glazed donuts shine brighter than the morning sun, with the perfect balance of sweetness and fluff. And don’t get me started on the jelly-filled—one bite, and you’ll be jam-packed with happiness! The service is warm, the selection is sweet, and every visit is a glazed and glorious experience.
