Taqueria Los Jaliscos Mexican — Restaurant in Texas

You'll notice I'm writing this under my REAL name. My husband I have to wonder if all the bad reviews are coming from loser competiors.

Let me put this way, my parents are coming to town. I can only take them to one restaurant: and this is it. The food is fantastic, portions HUGE, good food safety, very friendly service, and even better prices!

My husband and I are very picky about where we we eat, we have food handler permits. These guys measure up.

On Thursday, you get a monster plate of delicious sizzling meat for $6. It comes with a giant bowl of charro bean soup, delicious spanish rice, guacamole, tortillas (plenty of them too) and pico de gallo. They have lots of alcohol selections (no bar) if you're inclined. I love the very large, "large" soda glasses.

On other days of the week, you get the monster plate of fajitas, with even more meat, for about $9-10. Most times when we take someone, they just split the fajitas for one, with leftovers to take home.

The breakfast selections are phenomenal and very low prices. We ride Metrolift and we always get the driver a treat. They remember it, even if they don't pick us up for another year. My husband Ron like the machacado breakfast taco for $1.25. He also likes the chilaquiles.

I like the quesadillas, stuffed full of delicious Mexican cheese. The fajita quesadila makes 2 meals. I adore the tacos, too, and the fajitas. I have never had a bad meal.

We're on a budget, but when we eat out it's usually here.

I’d give my rating 4 stars. I’ve been going here off and on since 2015 bc I moved but when I come back to Houston this is one of my stops. I hadn’t been in over a year and when I looked at the most recent reviews they clearly went down. I decided to go and see for myself bc I know what the food used to taste like and I would know if it was wrong/off. I always get the nachos supreme with maybe varying sides or appetizers. When I went today, the taste was the exact same and everything I hoped for!! I WILL SAY, the service is mediocre the staff isn't very nice or welcoming… but when I’m always picking up the service isn't my main concern… I just want what I ordered and for it to taste good. THE FOOD checked off everything I wanted for a reasonable price so I'm not even mad regardless of the staff. Food is good to-go…can’t speak for in-house eating service but my food...

I came to this restaurant expecting the prices to be high but I gotta tell you the lunch special was delicious!!!. The food came out about five minutes after I had ordered which is a good time frame. The waitress welcomed me with a big smile. I complimented her on her attire. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of telvisions in different areas. At the time it was on the sports channel which made me no never mind. It was something to watch while feeding your face. Lol!!! The place was very clean so I did in fact tip the waitress for her hospitality. They had decorations all around from the Christmas holiday I take it. Overall this restaurant made me feel very welcome and it's nice and cozy with diverse people with kids laughing. A great atmosphere...
