Taqueria Y Pollo Asados El Regio — Restaurant in Crosby

This is one of our go to restaurants in Crosby! I take anyone I can here that’s not from the area and we always get rave reviews no matter what they’ve ordered. I will say their customer service has gotten much better since they got their brick and mortar a handful of years ago. The people aren’t the friendliest but they’re never rude and have always been accommodating. We’ve had a little bit of everything here so some of our favs are -Mixtas tacos (flour tortilla, carne asada, trompo, monterrey jack cheese, onions, cilantro), -Quesadilla Grande w/beef fajita (big flour tortilla, meat of choice (beef fajita is a staple!), Monterrey jack cheese, rice, lettuce, tomato), -beef fajitas (tortillas, sauce (green sauce is our fav), grilled onions and jalapeños, rice and either charro beans (good) or refried (never tried because I love charro). The The pollos y carnes asadas are a big portion so be hungry (or save for leftovers!) or share with others. The meat is always fresh, flavorful and tender. Any meat we’ve gotten has never been bad. Some of our friends really like their hamburgers because they’re authentic “ham”burgers that come with a piece of ham (not just lunch meat ham). I’ve tried it as well, it’s a good burger but I love their tacos, plates and quesadillas more. The stuffed jalapeño taco is interesting, if you’ve never had one I’d try it but it’s more of a novelty item. The Burrito Monterrey is BIG and use to be my go to because of how much you got inside but they started skimping and was mostly empty tortilla. I haven’t gotten it recently but was good if they are making it like they used to. Overall it is pricey and with everything going on in the world their prices have increased but our staples (Mixtas, Asadas, Quesadillas) are def worth the increase. Review: My recent visit to Taqueria y Pollo Asados El Regio in Crosby, Texas, left me utterly disappointed. The first thing that struck me was the outrageous prices on their menu, which did not align with the quality of the food they served. Despite the high cost, the taste of their dishes reminded me of something I could find at an expensive Taco Bell.

The lack of authentic flavors and the overall blandness of the food was quite disheartening. I had hoped to experience the rich and flavorful Mexican cuisine that the restaurant purported to offer, but alas, it fell short of expectations. The tacos, which are supposed to be their specialty, lacked the authentic touch and seemed like they were hastily thrown together.

To make matters worse, the portion sizes were underwhelming, making it difficult to justify the exorbitant prices. The dining experience felt rushed, and the service left much to be desired, with staff seeming disinterested and inattentive.

In conclusion, Taqueria y Pollo Asados El Regio failed to deliver on its promise of an authentic and delicious Mexican dining experience. The combination of exorbitant prices and food that tasted like an overpriced Taco Bell meal left me thoroughly unsatisfied. Good food but horrible service! The people here aren't too friendly. I came here because the good reviews. When I came up to the taco truck I was never greeted with a "good afternoon/evening". They basically just said "what do you want?". So I proceeded place my order. After I was done he gave me a total. So I handed over the cash and he snatched it fast, like if I was taking to long to pay him.. After that I waited approximately 15 min and my food was ready so they flagged me down to let me know it was ready. I approached the taco truck and the dude hands me my food. There was no "thank you have a nice day" or nothing... Like I said we ate the food and it was good but I won't be returning to this place ever due to the customer service. I recommend this place work on their customer service skills. I'm sure this place would have double the business they have now if they hired more friendly people to...
