This is the worst experience of ever! My husband decide to surprise me for a last minute date night. I am a small business owner and we came to support a local small business. Apparently they do not need business. We walked in and seated ourselves as the sign said even tho the bartender walked by with a perfect opportunity to say hello-at least. (Acknowledgement) We went on to seat ourself as you would do normally when you see the the “please seat yourself” sign. We sat and waited patiently. The bartender walked by a second time (mind you we are sitting at a small table for 2 right in front of the bar with another opportunity to say hello. He walked pasted us to clear a table, didn’t acknowledge we were there. Still not a big deal - waiting patiently. We see another couple walk right in... and get greeted and served drinks right away. Now it’s not the bartender that greets them. A manager comes out of nowhere as if they are super packed and helped them right away... brings a menu and takes there order and within 2 minutes they have their drinks... meanwhile we are still waiting...at this point we feel like they are just totally ignoring us. I have never and I will say this is the first time leaving a review in a negative view.... never have I ever thought of any situations as a racial situation against me or at least have not been in this type of situation personally, I am Hispanic and people often very often are surprised because they think I’m white.l. We we just treated and looked down to like I’ve never been treated before, if we could even say we were treated at all. This is one place I would never recommend nor will we be be back. I was super excited about it until now. This place needs to learn how to use better customer service skills. We were ready to have a great and not shy money wise night. But your loss maybe this business didn’t need...
Read moreCame here for a date night dinner on a Friday during their anniversary party. We called and made reservations for 6:30pm, at which point it was still pretty empty, so parking was easy to find. Fast forward to 7pm when the live music started (Bryan Scott's acoustic was absolutely wonderful), and they very quickly gained a solid crowd! The hostess was incredibly nice, and I believe we met the owner as well. There are a few TV's that (at the time) had the Astros game on, and other seats that just focus on the live music or have a more relaxed atmosphere.
We tried a few different wines, and the husband had beer. For food, we tried the pita and feta dip which was unique, filled with spices, and the right amount of cheese. Then we went with a meat and cheese board where we got to pick the meats and cheeses from their seasonal offerings. Everything was tasty but I highly regret not ordering like...a million of their olives!! They were to die for! All in all, Hidden Cellar is such a wonderful Cypress gem for live music, great drinks, tasty (light) bites, and spectacular service. Can't wait to go back! PS - Ultimately if you find a wine you enjoy, buy the bottle. Their prices...
Read moreNice little wine bar with a good selection of wines and such, comfortable seating, a nice selection of cheeses and other related munchies. Non-alcoholic drinks such as sparkling waters are also available for those not wishing to imbibe. I recommend the Vermont and holy cow cheese, the meatball appetizer, and aforesaid sparkling water; the Missus liked the wines as well. Very good live R&B music was featured when we visited on Saturday night, I was advised they offer live music on weekends generally. This hidden gem is indeed hidden, but Google Maps should be able to get you there. Worth the effort to go relax after a good meal at...
