Valentine's Day was my very first time visiting Wayback Burgers. I went to the Round Rock location. It wasn't very busy just me and two other customers. I looked over the impressive menu and decided to go with the Spicey Melt with one patty. I originally was going to just get the burger by itself, but the young man did his job and upsold the meal. I decided to get the strawberry shake and the garlic romano fries. The meal came to $14.92. I thought to myself, not too bad of a deal for a meal, but I did only get one patty on my burger. I sat down and looked at my receipt. I was missing my fries!!! I informed the young man that he didn't add my fries to the meal. He said, "I thought you didn't want any fries." I told him that you upsold the meal to me! He said "Oh." He didn't say that he would give me the fries free, because he made the mistake. I had to pay an extra $3.78 for them fries with no romano garlic seasoning, because they were out. SMH. So now my total for the meal was $18.70. I was not happy. My food came and I decided to look at my meal. The burger I received was not the spicey melt, at least according to the picture. My bun was not toasted, no crispy onions and no sauce. The bun was supposed to be inverted as well, not mine. My fries looked good, and the shake was not thick at all. I returned the burger for them to try again, they did. I didn't check it again because I just knew they got it right. I got home, took a bite of my burger and something was missing, oh, the crispy onions and the sauce. I was done. I called to let them know that my burger was messed up again. I was told to bring it back for them to make it over. No do over, I just wanted a refund! I did eat the fries and the drank the shake. Hey, I was hungry. Even though the shake was not thick at all, it had a great taste. The fries were good as well. I was told that the manager would be in around 5pm. I went back to get my refund and did not because no one could do it, but the manager, who was not in. They took my name and said I would receive a call. That was Friday. I went in this morning and asked to speak with a manager. A young lady named Yatziry, spoke with me. She said she was not the manager, but asked how she could help. I told her my dilemma and she handled the issue on the spot. She gave me a full refund and also told me to come back to get my full meal replacement done the correct way. Now that's what I call true and authentic customer service!!! Thank you, Yatziry, for making me feel heard and important. Because of you, I will give Wayback Burgers another chance, but I think I will only come when you are working. :) Lol.
Editing my review: Thank you Yatziry and Ariana for the service today. I enjoyed the food....
Read moreI hope you’re ready to read this novel… I’m beyond disappointed with my experience here. Let me start by saying, we LOVE the food and we frequent here often. However, due to the staff and lack of training and professionalism, we will no longer be coming here after our last visit. We ordered online at 6pm on a Saturday for curb side pickup. Our order said pick up at 6:20, we arrived at 6:40. There wasn’t any signage on where to park or what number to call for curb side so my husband ran in to grab the order. After waiting in line for a few minutes, barely being acknowledged or having eye contact, he was told it would be 15 more minutes. After about 5 minutes I called to ask if they would bring it to our car once it was ready since we ordered curb side, to which I was told “ummmmm, I’m probably gonna forget so it’d be better if you came inside.” 15 minutes later I go inside to collect my order, again without much eye contact I am told “oh, it’s going to be like another 10 minutes.” By this point I’m frustrated and HANGRY as it has now been an hour since I placed my order. I asked the server “have they even started my order yet?” She goes to ask the chef & comes back: “no, but they will push it to the front and it will be like another 10 min.” So I asked to speak with a manager, I’m told there’s no manager there that evening. I tell her to cancel the order since they haven’t even started it and give me a refund (I already paid online when I ordered.) I’m told she can’t because only a manager can issue a refund, and I need to call them the following day. Meanwhile there’s another customer behind us also waiting to complain about his order being wrong and no one even acknowledged him, he had to interrupt what was going on with us to get someone to help him. The following day I call and speak to manager, she apologised for the terrible service says she’s issuing my refund - one whole week later there’s no refund in my account. I call back to speak with the manager and am told “she’s too busy to take this call, call back tomorrow.” I’m completely dumbfounded by this place and wonder how much longer they will stay open if this is how they treat all of...
Read moreI would have left feedback directly if the business provided that option in store or on the receipt I had to ask for.
My expectations were pretty high for this new burger joint but it fell flat in just about every category: speed, accuracy, flavor, and value. I am not impressed with my meal yesterday.
It took about 14 minutes to get my food after ordering in the drive thru. I notified them at the beginning I had never been. there was only one car in front of me and no one behind. My lunch break is only 30 minutes long. That alone is enough reason to not return but that’s not all.
They forgot the one topping I added to my burger, and the drink I ordered was such an after thought that they almost closed the window before asking me about it to which I declined since I was already late and they still hadn’t made it. I had to ask for my receipt before they could close the window on me.
I peered inside the restaurant as I left and to my surprise it was quiet there too. No reason for it to take as long as it did. And if that is standard, this cannot be considered a “quick bite” what is the point of the window anyway?
All this and I was told at the beginning my burger and side with just a water would amount to just under $18??? I thought that’s fine at that price it must be at least as good as Fiveguys? My expectations were way too high. The ballsy pricing is setting this business up for failure, I could get quality service and better value at mighty fine and you should too.
I didn’t even mention the food, bland at best. The patty itself was a perfect puck, almost looked 3D printed and it had the texture of a breakfast sausage. I questioned if it was even beef based on the appearance. It certainly can’t be fresh if it’s so standardized. The lack of taste and discrepancy between the product and photos was too off putting I could only eat half.
I was excited about my 6 dollar side but it didn’t taste house made or of high quality, and again lacking flavor.
Burger lovers, people in a hurry, students, and anyone who doesn’t have money to...
