I am an avid Zaxby's supporter. I am a native of Georgia and normally only get to enjoy Zaxby's when I am visiting Georgia but today was a very rare occurrence where I was able to drive the over 30 minutes to attempt to get Zaxby's. The first location I went to off of I-45 was closed due to a power issue. So I drove to this particular location off the recommendation of a friend who use to live near it a couple of years ago. I will say that it is easy to find but I was highly disappointed in the quality of service and food.
While the ordering wasn't super difficult (even though I think that the cashier was confused about how I pronounced Tso's), I was disappointed in how the cashier interacted with me once I got to the window. I was expecting to be asked if I needed ketchup or be handed my receipt but the gentleman simply took my payment, gave me my drink, and then handed me my card and bag. I had to ask for my receipt because it seemed as though he wasn't going to give it to me. As I was trying to check my bag for all items, the staff at the window seemed rushed for me to leave. I understand that they may have wanted to get people out of the line quickly but I wanted to make sure that I had everything that I paid for. I wish I would have looked at it in more detail because when I saw my fries, I was highly disappointed. Not only did they look burnt but they tasted old. They lacked a level of crispiness that I have experienced before from two other Houston area locations.
When I bit into the boneless wings, the sauciness that I normally have with Zaxby's wings was missing and the bit of sauce I did taste did not wow me. It wasn't sweet nor heat. It was just there and it was very disappointing. Overall, I spent over an hour getting to that location and back home and I was very disappointed in the experience. I would not recommend this location nor would I drive from inside the 610 loop to travel here again, especially if the I-45 location is closed. I am just disappointed in my overall Zaxby's experience and I am never disappointed on this level. I wish my experience had been better. Especially for the time I spent getting there and home. I don't know what a good experience is for this location but this was definitely a disappointment. The only thing that wasn't bad was my side salad and soda. Everything else from my meal I would not order...
Read moreDrive-thru order. This place has a "now hiring" sign up and probably really needs staff. Person taking order had subpar customer service, and I mentioned it was my first visit to Zaxby's too. No idea what drinks are available since I don't believe the menu even includes that weird and they still didn't list all options after I asked. Very tough and awkward order to get through. Ordered 5 strip meal and an order of fried cheese. I was told to wait past the window while another order was made and given to the truck behind me. Almost no customers around. Brought food home 8 minutes and chicken and fries were cold so the wait was def not worth it. Fried cheese was warm and probably best item. Did not receive honey mustard as I requested and only got one pack of "zax sauce" for entire meal. That seems pretty cheap from the business when the meal cost $15+. Also soda syrup must have been low because it tasted off of carbonated water and less like the fanta is was supposed to be. I did not drink the soda and obviously won't be going to a Zaxby's again unless I hear the franchise makes big changes. I could not imagine recommending Zaxby's to anyone. 2 stars only because different person that brought food out to car was...
Read moreWent to this location for the first time this evening (01/28). The female who worked the front area with the headset was extremely rude. While placing my order I asked for my fries to be fresh and she replied, “We just had some fresh fries come up!" I said okay and finished my order. I was asked to pull up because my order would take a little longer than expected, and I was fine with that. The same female brought my food to my vehicle. I looked in the bag and there was no Zax sauce. Normally, Zax sauce comes with my fries at any other location I’ve been to so I didn’t bother to ask at the window. I went inside and politely asked her for a Zax sauce. She replied, “Did you ask for sauce?!?!” I said, “No, it normally comes with fries when I order it.” She said in a snappy voice, “Well, no it doesn’t! What kind of sauce you want again?!” I told her and she reluctantly gave it to me. I patronized this restaurant to receive food, not attitude. I’m not sure what her issue was but kindness goes a long way. If she did not feel like being courteous to customers at the job she chose to work at, go home. The negativity was...
