We've been coming to Anothai since opening week, generally no issues and quality was great, at first.
Over time we've noticed a decline in quality, but would still come back because of the consistency of the menu items we'd order and, let's face it, this area is a dead zone of quality Asian restaurants anyways.
However, today was the final straw. Placed a to go order, arrived to pay (and paid a decent tip), waited a short while and left with my order.
I got home 20 minutes later to find that they'd given me someone else's order! Strike 1, but let's be honest, mistakes happen and I was just looking for this to be made right.
I called to politely express my slight displeasure, requested that some kind of accommodation be made (refund, credit for a future order, whatever), and was asked to bring the food back so they can give it to the right customer. Ugh, gross? Handing customers food that has been who knows where and definitely cold at this point is a no no. Strike 2.
I return, was told no refund or accommodation would be made"they had to re make the order for the other customer so this food now goes to waste, here you can take this with you if you want." At this point, i really didn't press for the refund, but again, politely, expressed my displeasure over having to waste 45 minutes of my time and to only have a server/employee argue with me, only to be given a lecture over checking my order before leaving, after which I left with my food.
Strike 3.
Get home to feed my father, poor guy had taken his insulin 10 minutes before my first arrival home with the wrong food, was now in a beleaguered state. Upon learning of my less than stellar service experience on the return trip, then called to express his displeasure. My father is not as polite or diplomatic as I am. The lady on the phone hung up on him.
I honestly could care less about a refund/accommodation, but the completely unapologetic, blame the customer attitude was much worse than any restaurant I've been to, anywhere. That includes hole in the wall, backwoods places in the Asia-Pac region. That says something...
What a sad, sad situation for this restaurant, I hope things turn around for these guys, because with horrible service and declining quality, I don't see this restaurant...
Read moreI've been ordering the same dish about 3x this week. Spent about $20 at the time. I have an intolerance to a few things so surprisingly I don't found a dish I love and doesn't affect me negatively. This time though, I got confident in the service and ordered 2 plates of the same dish for work tomorrow. Well my stomach ended up hurting like glass inside and I called to see if they can exchange it or give me my money back because clearly this wasn't made the same way. They told me it's my fault because I ordered spicy when I did not, my wife was there listening. My wife goes in mad as hell, naturally. Finds out the woman at the front desk made her food this time. This is the same woman who had their cooks make a dish one time before just so we pay THEM instead of the other Anothai we accidentally ordered from that was a little ways. Why is it her fault when a front desk person made her food? After all these other thai places we can order from this isn't the first time it makes our stomach hurt either, Pad thai also is comprised, SCALLOPS WHERE UNDERCOOKED. I decided to give them another chance and still came back. End of the story, the woman said the manager is in and out and she cant refund me because the manager has the code. Have to come back to this place and talk to someone who actually has some sense and will do the right thing. WASTE OF MONEY, GAS, ENERGY, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, UPSET STOMACH, EVENING PLANS RUINED. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE EVERYONE DONT WISH THIS ON...

The menu is expansive, catering to all preferences, including vegan and gluten-free options. The standout dishes for me were the Panang Curry, with its rich, creamy coconut base and perfectly balanced spices, and the Pad See Ew, featuring perfectly cooked noodles and fresh vegetables. The presentation of each dish was thoughtful, and the portions were generous.
Their attention to detail extends to the drinks menu as well—be sure to try their Thai iced tea, a sweet, refreshing complement to the spicier dishes.
