This place is not great. I lived in Japan for three years, I know good sushi when I taste it. My girlfriend who is from Japan cannot recommend this place if you want quality sushi and an authentic Japanese experience. Now many American sushi restaurants use a different rice than they use in Japan, my girlfriend notices that. I don't. But the rice they serve here is yellowish compared to rice in other restaurants. I could be the sesame oil or something else. But traditional sushi restaurants, even the ones in America stick to the pure white rice experience. The tuna tataki tasted like cardboard with pepper on it. The sushi is barely okay if you never had sushi from a quality restaurant. The sushi and sashimi tasted like they were frozen before they were served to us with a watered down taste. The unagi Don I ordered was dismal, while the taste of the eel was as expected (watered down like everything else), the eel they served atop the rice was tiny compared to what other restaurants offered, and doused in sauced so you could barely taste the eel, yet it was just as pricey as the better restaurants. The miso soup tastes like they used soap water from the dish washer or maybe the fish were swimming in it earlier, I don't know but it was horrendous. The soy sauce containers while nice looking smelled of coffee, and I thought there was actual coffee in them. The soy sauce was mediocre as well. To top it off everything it was way too overpriced for what they were selling. I would not recommend this place ever, it would be a horrible first experience for anyone looking to try sushi, or even anyone who wants good sushi for what they are paying. I never really write reviews, but this was by far the worst sushi experience of my life. This restaurant sure as hell cuts corners to take the most out of your wallet knowing, many Americans, especially landlocked folks like here in Oklahoma, may never have had proper...
Read moreWe went here (inaka sushi) yesterday after discovering that Tokyo was closed for the afternoon. Boy, do we wish we had waited. The restaurant itself is attractive. The pop music was way too loud, the server was unfriendly almost to the point of being surly. She took us to our table and immediately (as in the moment we sat down) wanted to take our order. She seemed annoyed that she had to wait. BTW-This was at 2:30 in the afternoon, so we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We ordered 1 water, 2 hot teas, and a Dr Pepper to drink. Our 2 year old grandson was asleep when we arrived, so we didn't order anything for him. My daughter-in-law doesn't care for sushi, so she ordered tempura ($16.00). We ordered the largest assortment of sushi they offer ($72.00) for my husband, our son, and myself. The server brought the tempura a full 10 minutes before the sushi. The miso soup was only lukewarm (but tasted good), the tempura was adequate but not anything special. The sushi arrived on the cliched sushi boat. It looked attractive, though. The wasabi was tasteless, and the ginger wasn't much better. The fish was not as fresh as it should have been, and some of it was downright chewy. Not once did the server offer to refill our drinks. She did so once, only after my son asked her to do so. Our grandson had waked up by this time. She never offered to bring anything for him or even said hello to him. In fact, she never smiled or was friendly during the entire time we were there. The ONLY time she was attentive was at the end of the meal and we had paid. Apparently, she wanted to see how much her tip was. The bill was $112.75; we left $125. We were quiet, well mannered, friendly, and undemanding. Normally, we tip 25%, or more if the service is good. We...
Read moreThis was my first order. I placed an order online. At checkout was offered to have someone bring the food to m vehicle. So, I entered my vehicle information. After placing the order, I received a text message telling me to click the link provided and someone would be out to my car with my order. I arrived at the time my order was confirmed as ready for pickup. I clicked the link in the text message and received confirmation that someone would bring my order out soon. I waited 20 minutes while watching numerous people walking in and coming out with their food. Wondering what happened to my order, I went inside, only to have the counter clerk pick up a bag and hand me my food! I asked why no one had bothered to bring it to me, as requested. All I got was "sorry. next time call us." I followed the instructions to the letter and did not receive the service requested. This business cannot even follow their own direction. I am very disappointed with this standard of service. I will not be coming back. The food was decent, but nothing to...
