I have bought cupcakes from this little shop so many times and they are always delicious. We decided to use them for my son's graduation treats. I went into the store back in mid March to order a custom 6 inch cake and two dozen cupcakes. The girl was super helpful. She took an inspiration photo of the cake I wanted and asked me what flavor cupcakes I would like. She even said she would make sure the cupcakes matched the cake (high school colors). We left super excited!
Fast forward to the week before my son's graduation (end of May). I received a phone call from the store stating they were not able to make strawberry cupcakes for me because they don't offer strawberry cupcakes on Friday (day I was picking up). I told the girl that I had a custom order and was told I could have any flavor I wanted. We chose chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. She just kept saying they don't offer strawberry on Friday and I needed to choose a different flavor.
I was told the girl who originally took my order made a mistake. How is that my concern? We were less than a week out from my son's party and you are telling me I can't have what I ordered and paid for 2 months in advance because a coworker sold me something you don't want to make? Funny thing is they sell strawberry cupcakes on Thursday. How hard would it have been to just make 6 cupcakes for pick up on Friday? Also, how was I suppose to choose "Friday flavors" in March when they were totally different during the winter months. The whole thing was absurd. I asked to speak with the manager and was told she wasn't there. I asked that the manager call me. Suddenly, the baker was willing to make my 6 strawberry cupcakes.
I will say that the cake and cupcakes were beautiful and delicious! And the strawberry cupcakes were the first to be eaten. I absolutely love this shop and think they are great for assorted cupcakes. And the cake they made for us was perfect. I'm not sure I will use them for custom cakes again, if the customer service continues to...
Read moreOrdered here many customers cakes - many walk-in orders. Easy going, flexible, forgiving customers. I feel I need to warn ppl bc most ppl have specific event deadlines for these things and are a little more specific on events than we are.
PROS: delicious baked good so good you will put up with repeated abuses of customer care on custom orders. Custom cakes delicious styles pretty great can make some more intricate ones when they want to. Front desk staff very nice helpful kind, custom order phone person who is also front office very nice. pick up usually easy if cake exists.
Cons: Custom order EVERY single one over two years - made past deadline we let the cake place make - not our deadline. EVERY order lost, delayed. I do ev one on company online form, call after to confirm and review, call two days later, call again day of. EVERY SINGLE one. They will say they called no voicemails exist, no emails, no missed calls and they will say things like we tried to call you or now the cake needs more time ---even though you spoke with them they day prior and two days before that and the day before that and every call they assured you cake was all good. I would believe them if it was that one occurrence but I have a two year history of this occurring on every order now. multiple custom cakes. You have to call them multiple times day for days to assure your order done and they have done all the work and even then no cake may exist for your celebration.
They did this as usual to our last order this week and it was the last straw - life is too busy to do all your own legwork for THEIR business. It s new year and we will find a better event support. Reading through reviews I see it is common issue on...
Read moreWe had a cake designed by Frost for a birthday party this past Saturday. When I went to pick it up I had several problems. The first was with the cookies I ordered. I had ordered 24 cookies, minnie mouse heads and 1's. When I placed the order the girl who was filling out the paperwork told me that the minnie mouse cookies would be $3.50 and the 1's would be less. She wasn't sure about the amount, but she made a note on the form. When I picked them up I asked the two young girls working about the amount. I was very quickly informed that they were all $3.50 and they don't know why I was told any different. Obviously I needed the cookies, so I just let it go. Then I looked at the big cake, which was fine and they opened the matching smash cake which was red. The ONLY specific directions I gave when placing the order was that the smash cake had to be white icing on white cake. However, when I said something to the 2 girls they informed me there were no notes on the sheet. I asked them how this could happen and they said the girl that took my order originally was new. Obviously, I am very irritated because I need the cake, but it's wrong. I told the 2 girls this and one just looked at me and said.."sorry" while shrugging her shoulder. Only after I insisted that this wasn't going to work did she call someone. They reluctantly fixed the icing, but it was still chocolate cake and the Yellow bow on the cake had red smudges on it. This was all for my daughter's first birthday party and they acted the whole time like they knew I had no choice but to take it, and unfortunately they were right. I gave them 2 stars because the cake and cookies were good, but I will not do business with them again nor...
