After two separate visits to Fughedaboudit bagel my husband and I won’t be returning in the future. Our first time was a few months back where we had an unfortunate experience of them forgetting to make our order while we waited in the store and then when going up to ask about it they “ran out” of the everything bagel we ordered because the rest were sold to people who came in after us- they offered to make our sandwiches on a different bagel, which we agreed to and went on about our day. After that experience we were hesitant to try them out again, but today my husband was craving a bagel sandwich and with not a whole lot of options around us, we decided to give Fuhgedaboudit another try. We got there this morning and placed our order- one Sammie and one Hermie. My husband asked for his Sammie to have both bacon and sausage, which we understandably paid extra for having more meat on. After a few minutes we get our order and his sandwich is missing the bacon he added. So he kindly went up to the young man behind the counter with his sandwich open to show that there was no bacon on it and the young worker offered to have it remade, however we didn’t want to complicate things so we just asked for the bacon on the side. This is where things went sideways- the young worker went to the cook in the back (not sure of his name, but he was wearing a baseball cap and grey shirt and has tattoos ) and asked for a side of bacon, to which the cook replied “I put bacon on that sandwich” the young man again asked just to have a side of bacon and the cook in the back said okay and a moment later very loudly says “Here’s the bacon we didn’t put on the sandwich” in a snarky manner. The young worker gave us the bacon and we thanked him and continued to sit there uncomfortably to finish our meal. We checked the sandwich multiple times prior to going up and saying anything to make sure we weren’t in the wrong, and even after asking and hearing the remarks from the cook we checked again and pretty much disassembled the whole sandwich and there was NO bacon on it. As we were eating we watched as multiple customers after us had issues with their orders and the same cook continued to make loud snarky remarks about their orders- like he can do no wrong. So after two bad experiences we are done with trying to have a good experience here. This is unfortunate as there aren’t many places in the woodlands area that offer this type of breakfast and we’d like to support a small business, however the bagels alone aren’t enough to go back and deal with this level of...
Read moreI was excited to try this place as I always love a good bagel. Firstly, to establish some credibility, my brother has lived in Manhattan, and currently lives in Brooklyn so I’ve been to NY City a decent amount of times and have tried many phenomenal bagel places.
Whenever I try a new place, I always order as much as I can and I do seriously eat it all (I have a huge appetite and love food). I got their version of the lox bagel and the egg bagel, along with 3-4 normal bagels and the bagel ball that was stuffed with cream cheese, as well as a medium coffee and two of their cream cheese spreads (honey walnut and the green onion). I spent about 60$ on it all.
Their lox bagel was way too overstuffed, everything fell out as soon as I bit into it and I ended up having to pretty much dip my bagel in all the filling that fell onto the paper. The egg bagel with bacon was okay. The normal bagels were definitely better than store bought, but still didn’t have the light fluffy inside with the toasted nice crunch on the outside. To be quite honest, it was really dense and just honestly not that good.
I was extremely disappointed with the cream cheeses, they both lacked a ton of flavor. The scallion one was green but could barely taste the scallion. The filled bagel was excellent. The coffee was not super great.
I will say, the front desk gentleman was very helpful and nice, so the service was great. In summary, this place was not really anything like an authentic good NY bagel. They tasted better than store bought but not like freshly made (I’m sure they are though). Just not worth spending the money for that in my opinion. I’ve had better bagel places in Texas.
If you have a bagel craving, then try it out for yourself, I may just have really high standards. But don’t be surprised if you’re...
Read moreUpon entry and approaching the counter after waiting in line, my reception was noticeably different from customers served/seen prior to me. I noted the variance and proceeded to make my order, which I decided to alter to diminish the wait time for receiving my order. Ultimately the alteration made no difference as the wait time for my order which literally consisted of a sausage patty, slice of cheese, and a plain bagel (I deleted egg based on what I was told by the person taking my order). After waiting a considerable amount of time, I witnessed at least 4 customers come in and order at least 15 minutes after I ordered. These were not pre or call in orders, but orders made on site. The individuals received their orders within minutes while I stood by waiting patiently. When I brought this to the attention of the young lady that initially took my order, my observation of her response gave me the impression she was not only unconcerned, but she appeared annoyed that this was brought to her attention. Another young man working in the back preparing orders had come within earshot at the register as I was inquiring as to the status of my order, thankfully interceded and actually apologized after checking the status of my order and realizing there was no excuse for the delay. He tried to make the situation right and offered to add an additional item which I appreciated but didn't view necessary. Nor did I expect or request a refund, I simply wanted my order filled. Ultimately, as I stated to the young lady and the young man, the establishment is properly named as I intend to "fuhgedaboudit" and never return or patronize this...
