Unprofessional customer service.
A mistake was made with our order due to a front counter person not repeating our order back to us. It came up pan style when we ordered thin crust. It had a lake of cheese on it and we could barely stomach a slice each out of our family of 4. They repaid the difference between the thin and pan style pizzas. They offered me a “credit to my name for next time” and did not specify anything further. When I called to take them up on their offer they informed me it was only a $5 discount. He escalated to the owner (his mother). I hung up while on hold waiting for the owner deciding against all the hassle. SHE CALLED ME BACK. She began raising her voice with me insisting her son explained the $5 policy the night of the mistake even though she wasn’t there. She sarcastically asked “how am I supposed to stay in business if I’m giving away free pizzas?” I responded, “You stay in business by not making the mistake in the first place.” She ignored the fact that the entire crust was wrong and that the lake of cheese sliding off of the pie was unappealing made wrong and instead focused on their inability to cut pizzas as pie slices due to my statement of their mistakes in the past. She made more excuses about “what if we have 10 pizzas coming out of the oven at once?” “My wife and I have both worked in pizza places. You check the ticket every time same as you do for toppings, same as you do for crust styles,” I told her. She further made excuses for her son and their inability to cut pies. I will never order from a food place that can not stand by the principle that you need to get the order right the first time. EVERY ORDER. I don’t care if you regularly cut party style. It’s simple. CHECK EVERY TICKET and DO NOT call the customer back after they hang up from being on hold to harass them into accepting your minute...
Read moreAlthough the food has always been good, today was my LAST visit. Called in with a couple different items and thoroughly reviewed with the person taking the calls. They said it would take 15 min- Ok great! We get there it’s been 15 min, awesome right? No. They are trying to call me to say they messed up my naked wings and added the sauce when I clearly stated I wanted it on the side. After they realized I was the customer they kept trying to call they tried to give me my order without re making the wings without sauce. When I asked to have them remade, i was treated as if it was an inconvenience - even though it was their mistake! Mind you I had ordered other food as well and they just stuck it in the warmer while the new wings were cooking. I get home the food is cold and the worst it’s ever tasted. Overall the customer service is what ruined it for me. After having to give attitude back did they finally do something to compensate my original 15 min wait order that took an hour. Un freaking believeable. I’ll take my business where it’s not young kids giving you stares for their mistakes, where they care to give you the fresh cooked food you’re paying for and overall customer service a paying customer...
Read moreThis past late March marked the very 1st time (I know, right?!) trying Wayne's and was very pleased with this taste.
I read a local news article a couple of years ago about the best pizza joint in the Grayslake area and came to my surprise that it wasn't Bill's Pub North but indeed Wayne's.
Since then I guess it was just a matter of timing of when I could finally stop in but then again I'm a foodie and I'm always looking for that next pizza, burger, gyros venue, etc.
I must say the food in general is really good here and especially their pizza. Even after sitting in a warmer for quite a few minutes, those single slices still taste awesome.
I think the next time I bring my family here, we'll try traditional pizza dining and order a whole pie fresh outta the oven. This local gem is a real treat for the residents of Third Lake/Grayslake area.
Definitely some of the most delicious pizza in Lake County and well worth a stop in for those pizza connoisseurs who haven't tried yet, you won't be disappointed!
