I was hesitant to try a BBQ restaurant in the north, but I had a huge craving for some meat on our Maine seafood trip. I have good news it’s worth it. I love bbq places that have multiple sauces. I’m a sauce guy so that was very appreciated. The House Bbq and the Chipotle Bourbon was my favorite out of the assortment. I usually love Carolina sauces but this one tasted mostly of mustard. They should play with a spicy bbq option for the spice lovers out there. Fried Pickle Spears - Breaded Well, cooked perfectly, and the pickle was good. They came with some kinda aioli that sorta resembled ranch… I’d prefer a good ranch instead. Meat Sampler Platter - All very very good, flavorful moist pulled pork, ribs juicy and succulent, sausage had excellent flavor, and brisket was tender and moist. Smoked Wings - My favorite thing I ate here. I got the Honey Reaper sauce and it that was a great choice. Not overly spicy so people that can’t handle spice don’t worry. If I could’ve bought a bottle of this sauce I would’ve. Haddock Fish Tacos - I tried a few bites, this was my wife’s choice. She said they’re very good and I liked them, but I wanted real meat. Brisket Sliders - Good, but difficult to eat. The sliders weren’t cut into individual sandwiches so you couldn’t just pick up one sandwich. The meat was just laid across the 3 buns and not cut. I attempted to cut them into 3 different sandwiches but without a steak knife that was a challenge. Also the brisket on my sandwiches was noticeably dryer than the brisket on our sampler platter. Extra bbq sauce was needed. The pickled cucumbers were nice to cut through the heaviness of the meat, but too sweet for my liking. As a southerner I’d 100% come back. Having homemade ranch dressing and consistency on the brisket would’ve awarded a 5 star.

Pretty average BBQ. I got their smaller with a side of mac and cheese. The brisket was dry, the ribs Seasoning was overwhelming, while the pulled pork was very juicy and tender. The sausage was a sausage, not bad, nothing special. The bbq sauces were middle of the road. Mac and cheese was good a but the sauce was a bit thin compared to what I've come to expect. The place was empty when I showed up around lunch time, and wasn't sure if they were even open. Once inside, service was quick, and atmosphere was good. I enjoyed the firefighter/first responder theme and the retauarant/Bathroom was clean. Pricing wasn't bad for BBQ, might have just had a bad batch and i would consider trying again if I was in the area.

After yesterday’s fiasco with barbecue, we were going to get a lobster roll and one of my favorite places along highway 1. But being an Easter sadly they were closed so we continued on our way until we came across this barbecue place. Great interior and we were greeted nicely at the door. Our server could not been any nicer and we started off with fried pickles, which were fantastic with the dipping sauce they gave us. My wife had to fried chicken sandwich and I had to pull pork platter. Those were quite yummy. This was an unexpected stop, but well worth it.

I usually don't do reviews unless I am extremely pleased or extremely not pleased. I am afraid this time I am not pleased. Stopped to have a nice BBQ lunch on our way up the coast. The place was not busy and we were seated immediately. Ordered our drinks and one order of pork sliders and french fries. As we were waiting (approx 10/15 min) another couple drove up on their motorcycle and sat outside. We continued to wait and wait. Another couple came in and sat at a high top next to us. We asked the server (pigtails & a tiara on her head) about our order and she said that it was coming right up. We waited a apoeix 15/20 more minutes and she is walking towards us, but alas, walks past us and served the motorcycle couple. They were having the same thing we ordered...pork sliders/French fries. We waited another half hour and noticed the waitress talk to someone at the bar but did not come back to our table. The manager was on the floor visiting tables but never came to our table. Just as the motorcycle couple was getting ready to leave we asked the waitress again and again she says our sliders are on the way out to us. Well lo an behold here she comes with a plate of sliders/French fries and walks right past us to serve the couple at the high top. I just stood up, grabbed our things and said "we are leaving". She started to say that OUR food was coming right out. Sorry, we were there much longer (3 refills of cola and water) than anyone else that came in AFTER we did and ordered the same thing and NO ONE came to our table to relate any problems. This is totally unacceptable. You have lost a good customer and someone who is a valuable resource for your reviews. Respectfully, Your...

Visited 04/23/2022 -- New ownership has it nearly perfectly calibrated. Highlights included a great full rack of ribs, expertly cooked and complemented tableside with a choice of 4 homemade sauces -- all great. The baked bean side dish was exquisite, if you can say that about baked beans. It was dark and rich, with perfectly cooked navy beans and chunks of pork belly. Perhaps most importantly, the beans weren't overly sweet, which meant truly enjoying the sauce as well as the beans. My partner had blackened haddock tacos, which hit the savory mark without crossing the incendiary boundary. An appetizer of chili queso nachos was surprisingly good, with nice bits of jalapeno in the cheese. A minor miss was the mac n cheese side, which appeared to be simple elbow pasta dressed with a mild cheese sauce. It wasn't bad, but clearly didn't get the same attention as the baked beans side dish. I really wanted to try the sliced beef brisket, but it was only available pulled for lunch, when we were there. The sliced version is only on the dinner menu. We really loved the friendly, inviting atmosphere of the converted gas station and the funny, capable wait staff. We'll be going back as soon as possible. Highly recommended. Personally rated...
