Kent's Drive In — Restaurant in Thomson

As a long time customer and so many great experiences here, it took me a while to decide if I wanted to write this review. Let me first say, this review has nothing to do with staff as they are always great, it's again the SON of the owner. Let's also get this out the way. Yes I'm a black male and the son is a white male and the lady I speak of is a white female, just to make it clear. I went In to order my food after calling countless times but it was fine I didn't mind. I go here 1 to two times sometimes 3 times a week. On this night the young man manager that night, saw me in a separate line. As I got up and it became my turn, the lady customer comes and just cut off and starts ordering. I said, "ma'am, no I'm ordering my food", HER response, the manager told her she could order in front of me. I look to the manager and say "hey, no that's not right, I've Been standing here and was in front of this line. And his comment was she been here 30 min. I reply sir that has nothing to do with me, I have the right to place my order she just can't cut me off and get her order taken. He grabs a ticket angrily and slams it down and says with an attitude, WHAT do you want? We I told him but still expressing my feelings to of how this looks and it's not right, he then tore up my ticket, refused me service and walks away. I did not leave because no, I'm Here and now it's not about food, now it's just about the plain disrespect. Do I think the restaurant is a racist establishment, definitely not. But thar situation was definitely, and the SON handled me as if he was abd and I was secondary or less than. Fast foward, the cashier ask ,me did I still wanna place sn:she is great always I reply yes sweetheart that's fine. So I did. Then he looking at me from across the way angrily. I ask cashier just give my money back I'm just about to go, so she had to get him to refund me So he comes attitude again slaps $10 ik my hands. I said no sir, you only owe me $8.66. Once given to me I finally said how I felt. I thought it was a racist move. Sn: I did curse I'm thar sentence not sure if I could add Here. Ready to leave now. He gets right up behind me ad I approached door. I asked him 5 times to his face not to follow me and he continued all the way outside. And I told him if he kept following me I would consider him a threat. He calls police and say I threatened him. Well , he called it off quick. Camera don't lie. Kent's was absolutely perfect! Ms. Rhonda was by far sent from the Heavens. Her personality is Angelic and her soul is definitely engaged in her work. She ensured that we were completely satisfied with everything before ever paying for our food.

The entire staff was awesome and accommodating to the very end of the visit. We loved the atmosphere and the camaraderie amongst the employees. The leader was as engaged in customer satisfaction as the rest of the employees were. The young lady who gave us our refills and a bag to go was super sweet and humble. She was Heavenly as well.

The food was excellent. We ordered a banana split to split and it was great! We also ordered a livers and gizzards dinner to go. They were awesome and the gravy was so good that it could be eaten alone. I do not like to cook often, but the gravy made me want to go home and make some rice.

We were impressed with the entire experience. We will definitely return to this establishment in the near future and recommend it to our friends and family.

I am so unhappy with my order. First of all I went to Facebook to look at a menu. Kent's had taken it down because they had a price increase. Which I understand due to inflation but I ordered for 4 adults and the food was horrible. I called ahead when I got to the restaurant my order was not ready and I had to wait for my hamburgers. That was ok however my 2 catfish dinners, frys and onion rings sat there and waited too. I waited almost 20 minutes so when I got home 5 minutes later my food was cold. The onion rings were cold and soggy with grease. There was only one lady working trying to wait on a restaurant full with people. One of the cooks had to come up and help out. Of course she had to say I'm a cook this isn't my job.
