Sadly, I have given up on Daisy's. The parking situation is abysmal, and there is barely enough room to back out of any of the 5 or so parking spaces. Not much that they can really do about that, so we customers will simply have to deal with the headache of no available parking, the risk to your vehicle because people park haphazardly, and all the dangers inherent in navigating congested areas full of cars and pedestrians. Not ideal, but not a deal-breaker. The drink menu is farcical. Apparently, a machine has been down, and it will never be repaired. Why continue to post that menu at all, if the drinks will never be available? Not a big deal, but an annoyance. The real issue is the service, or truly, the lack thereof. I ordered simple sandwiches that took 2 hours to be prepared. I forgave them. I called in an order that was bungled, with the wrong food given, and I forgave them. I ordered a meal for pick up, was told it would be ready in 30 minutes, and 50 minutes later, arrived at the restaurant only to discover that the meal was not only not ready, but they had not even started working on preparing it. I again forgave them. I arrived one evening, well before closing, which is supposed to be 8pm, and was told that they were no longer preparing food, and to go away. I was disappointed with the lack of care and harsh treatment, but figured anyone can have a bad day, and I wouldn't take it personally, so I forgave them. Wanting to give them one more try, and to support a much needed vegan option in an area that is not known for healthy eating, I tried again, this time arriving after 6:00pm, standing in line for over 20 minutes, during which time others placed orders and were served, and once I reached the register, I was again told that the grill was closed, and I could not place an order. Enough is enough. It is over. No more chances. I can't keep forgiving them. I am tired of the poor treatment with which I am consistently faced and the fact that they do not value my time, or that of any of their other customers. I will no longer beg them to take my money when they obviously do not value my patronage or personhood. If I could give negative stars, I would. The food was good (when I could get it), but the service, mis-management, and poor treatment ultimately left me with a bad taste...
Read moreDaisy's Cafe is a family-owned and operated vegan restaurant located in the Chicagoland suburb of South Holland. The cafe has been serving up delicious vegan food for over 10 years, and it's clear that the owners are passionate about their craft.
I recently visited Daisy's Cafe for lunch and ordered the Raw Plate, which comes with four sides. I had the potato salad, carrot salad, quinoa, and eggless pate. Everything was delicious! The potato salad was creamy and flavorful, the carrot salad was crunchy and refreshing, the quinoa was hearty and satisfying, and the eggless pate was rich and decadent.
I also ordered a Royal Ginger Drink, which was made with fresh ginger, lemon, and honey. The drink was refreshing and invigorating, and it was the perfect way to cool off on a hot day.
The staff at Daisy's Cafe is friendly and welcoming. They were happy to answer my questions about the menu, and they made sure that my food was prepared exactly the way I wanted it.
Overall, I had a great experience at Daisy's Cafe. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious vegan meal.

Read moreI initially found the cafe by Google search so it was completely new to me. I bragged to my husband about what I saw on the menu and the photos that were posted. Instead going in, I placed an order over the phone. I asked for the Jerusalem gyro and the woman told me that it was just a gyro. I was asked if I wanted the combo and I picked regular fries as my side. I also ordered vegan tips as well. She went on to tell me that everything was vegan. I said, “okay thanks for telling me that information. I ordered sweet potato fries and ask for forgiveness if pronouncing lentil incorrectly. She said,” lentil tacos”, I replied with “yes I’ll take that”. While on the phone with the lady, she sounded very irritated with me and repeated everything. She also countered what I asked for. At one point I heard her say seasoned fries so I corrected her and reminded that I would like the regular fries please. She got smart and said the gyro combo comes with regular fries when I clearly heard her say seasoned fries. I asked her if she was okay and if something was wrong. She replied with she had a lot of orders and she just trying to take mine. I said just cancel my order it’s ok maim. She said ok and hung up. Now understanding where her frustration was coming from, did that give her the right to treat me the way she did? To take her frustration out on me because I was not ordering fast enough for her? Or whatever her...
