Don Pedro — Restaurant in Thornton Township

This is one of my favorite places, the only reason they are getting 3 stars is because they played me...The 1st time was a error the 2nd time was just poor service. So I placed an order for 3 steak tacos super specific in the introductions as to what to place on them...After waiting for 35 minutes.. I pick up my food and drive off..I get to my destination and Open up and there is no refried beans and there is Globs of Sourcream on my food..I almost vomited I absolutely abhor Sour cream!! And No where on my order did I ask for it. I called them they were very gracious about redoing my order Great 5Star Worthy Response..... Until I get there....

I walk in, There are 3 employees at the front one on a register not assisting anyone 2 behind a bar, Not assisting anyone and they just have me stand there No acknowledgement or Nothing...I'm very forward So I say very Loudly " Excuse me Who is going to assist me" I said that twice. before the Male says " Oh yes how can help you" as if he just noticed me...1 Star down.... I tell him my issue and he's cool and they prepare to fix my order. Everything's good I thought.. Until I get to my car Check my order again and there again is No Beans and No Guacamole i paid extra for. The Tacos were sloppy. One barely had any meat. I WAS BLEW!! There food is GREAT but they don't like to own up to their mistakes. It's not my 1st time having them fix an order with the same...

I'm giving this place one star only because they charged me $1.50 for a 2 oz cup of green salsa which tasted like it was store bought and then they charge me $0.95 for a little bit of diced jalapenos. Now I own a restaurant and I understand if you have to charge people for things on the side but I've never been to a Mexican restaurant and ordered soup and a taco and had to pay extra for green salsa which went on my taco or dice jalapenos which went in my soup. Usually the Mexican restaurant has green salsa on the table already and whenever you order soup or menudo they always give you a side plate that has diced onions nice jalapenos and cilantro or oregano. When I looked at my bill I almost went through the roof. And when I asked the witches why she didn't tell me all that stuff was extra she didn't give me an answer so naturally I took that charge away from her tip. Now don't get me wrong the soup was delicious and so was the taco but that's no excuse to charge you extra for salsa and things that go on the food that they serve you. It wasn't like I was ordering sour cream or extra cheese or something like that. So needless to say it was my first and last time going there. People beware of how you order food and this...

My family and I hosted a Party in the event room. The servers were a joy! Patient and friendly the entire night. The food was amazing and every party guest enjoyed the dinner. However, Darian (alleged owner) was pleasant up until the point of our final payment. After our event was paid in full (plus $1,000 towards an open bar tab) he became very rude, short and disrespectful. To add insult, the day of the event I had the misfortune of meeting his mother, who was argumentative and rude, not only to me, but her staff. The way she spoke to them, and me, was unprofessional and belittling. I was in disbelief at the treatment I encountered and witnessed. But I was impressed by the positive attitude the servers maintained throughout the night despite their mistreatment I witnessed. I want to be clear, the servers said nothing about being mistreated, I'm only speaking on what I witnessed and experienced. Nonetheless, the party was ultimately a success and a great time with good food and drinks.
