Gigis Sugar Bar — Restaurant in Thornton Township

Ordered a funnel cake from Gigi's with whip cream and chocolate Ordering Funnel Cakes I've always had the whip cream on the side. We literally live walking distance and turned around and came right back with the funnel cake.... because the whipped cream was put inside of the box with the hot funnel cake. Of course, the whip cream melted everywhere, and there was a big puddle sooooo the funnel cake was super super soggy..... We returned and asked for it to be remade and was told no, that's what you asked for, and we can't waste the product. EVEN attempting to pay for it to be remade ( because I didn't ask for another one for free), we were told no..... needless to say at that point, I didn't want a thing!!! So we had to trash it......While walking out the employees ( 2 younger ladies) was telling the customers in the store they weren't remaking it we threw it at them WHICH WAS BEYOND NOT TRUE we threw the box in the trash.... right next to the counter of ice cream stand in the trash.... so I politely walked back and grabbed that I so-called box from THE TRASH that we threw at them.... 25.00 spent and lesson learned.....

I will be contacting you....never ONCE was ANY of your establishment employees cursed at, nor was my voice raised..... the 2 young ladies that worked that evening were young adults old enough to be my kids! So, no, I never once cursed at them! And as you quoted, the box was tossed INTO the trash! My daughter, who was with me, did say no thank you, and it was okay after they realized I was indeed trying to pay for another funnel cake and not get a free one. That's when we proceeded to leave the establishment. But again, thanks for rolling the cameras back to justify what you and your team felt was...

We ordered the banana split with 3 different flavors: soursop (guanabana), pistachio, and pumpkin cheesecake. The service was fast, courteous, and friendly.

Soursop: As a Vietnamese who have eaten soursop my ENTIRE life, I'm hella picky when it comes to not just the flavor, but texture of this fruit and anything soursop. Imagine my surprise when I was blown away at how balanced the sweetness of this ice cream was on top of the texture resembling to a real soursop due its meatiness.

Pistachio: This is THE best pistachio ice cream I've had. It's creamy and has whole pistachio pieces to add to the perfect flavors of it being sweet, slightly salty, and really accentuated the creaminess of the ice cream.

Pumpkin cheesecake: NOT a fan of pumpkin but this was amazing. It had chunks of cheesecake in it and if you're a pumpkin fanatic, I guarantee you'll love it.

I didn't take any pictures, but what sets this paletería apart is their ice creams are all HOMEMADE!!!!!!

First experience with my daughter and it was HORRIBLE!!!Yes, this place is very pretty in the setup is very nice and neat and clean but beware the food is horrific! We came in and ordered two nachos three popsicle bars in one scoop of ice cream all came out to almost $30. Downside about this is the nachos was greasy and terrible we asked for ground beef somehow we found potatoes in our ground beef on top of generic nachos with just a little bit of cheese and she had the audacity to tell us that other toppings that normally come with nachos like sour cream or jalapenos were $2 extra. Now let's move on to the generic popsicle bars no real cheesecake flavor it tastes like rubber and could barely get the fruit taste from the popsicle. The pistachio ice cream tastes very generic and also taste as if they chopped up pecans instead of pistachios. This place is overcharging and cutting corners on ingredients poorly poorly done by management. We will NEVER...
