Mr. Submarine — Restaurant in Thornton Township

This has always been my favorite Mr. Submarine. But why the change. Well let me first say it’s not the food. The food is extremely good. It’s the customer service of listening in all the years I have spent money here I have always made it clear that I am a EPI pen carrier for I am allergic to Onions I clearly say at all restaurants and fast foods please change gloves and wipe station so no cross contamination will happen. Well two evenings ago a friend and I went in order to chicken gyros which is so flavorful and good and a turkey sub and yes I said the norm onion allergy to onions clean station change gloves so no cross contamination. Well far from that being followed I ate my chicken gyro never tasting any onions but yet it has to be cross contamination because my friend had onions on his. So to shorten this I called that day pretty got a I don’t give a ? Attitude so hung up didn’t want to spend eve in er EPI pens expired because by God’s Grace food establishments have listened. So we went to CVS to get me some Benadryl I couldn’t wait for it to be paid I popped that bottle open to drink it from bottle. So I called the next day spoke with Mike he seem to be more sincere told me to call Art today so I did I understand Art had and family emergency but instead of him giving me a listening ear as the owner he cause the feelings of the first guy who’s name I not know. All I wanted to do is make him aware of the situation and because I didn’t go to the hospital we really had nothing to talk about. Not everyone is going to jump for money I just wanted to make him aware so his cooks do better. And even though I believe this is the more better Mr. Submarine I will at no time soon renter this establishment. I would rather go elsewhere were owners and employees care about such unfortunate mistake. Would I say it’s a good place to get a quick carry out yes but not all establishments see you as a matter just their money. I try to support my neighborhood community area especially establishments but when I endure unpleasantness I will gladly take my funds and spent elsewhere. So right now my Homewood spot which is actually way better than Mr. Submarine just a good distance listen and make all their customers matter it’s in there actions. I have a review on them. Yesterday I came here the lady took my order I order a beef cheese fries I got home it wasn't beef it was steak something I didn't order I called up there 3xs the guy was very rude and disrespectful talking bout we don't answer the phone past 8 and hung up so I drove back up there they just was very unprofessional they was cussing on their phones and I told the lady I didn't order this ..this not beef on my cheese fries so she gone lie and said that I order steak and I told this lady no I didn't i order beef cheese fries never said nothing about steak ..she wasnt paying attention its clear she doesn't know how to multitask ..all this time i been comn up here I ain't never order steak cheese fries the pineapple juice wasn't really all that sweet ..they had to remake my food and when the lady gave it to me she had a attitude but my thing is why get a attitude when you the one messed up my order she needs to be retrain..but yah won't have to worry about me comn back yah lost a customer... wish I could give...

Our Sandwiches were poorly made and cold. So we called back to discuss the situation with this location. We wanted two chopped steak burgers, one with cheese,and one without cheese. They marked our bags incorrectly and my husband began eating the sandwich with cheese. He can't eat cheese for health reasons. When I explained this to the manager he replied: The kitchen may have marked your bags wrong and sorry your husband bit down into some cheese,but just switch your bags. And we did get your order right we been serving same sandwich for the 50 years so YOU just ordered wrong. This not resolve. This is truly poor customer service. We had throw away the food because it was like eating a vending machines mystery meat sandwich. If you want your food hot and the best customer service try the South Holland Mr Submarine.
