We have been looking forward to SPG opening since it was first announced it was coming to Homewood and it didn't disappoint! We had dined at the Mokena location previously and really enjoyed the food. Today we decided to share some appetizers (stuffed pretzels, cheese curds and buffalo chicken eggrolls) and split an entree SPG Chopped salad. My husband had a really delicious draft beer and I had lemonade which was just right, not too sweet. SERVICE: From the minute we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted, and seated, by who I assume was the manager. Our server, Daisy, was delightful! She was upfront that she was still learning the ropes of the new location and all of the menu offerings, but what she didn't know, didn't show as she did a wonderful job. FOOD: The food took a little on the long side to arrive at the table, but that's to be expected during a soft opening when the kitchen, servers and everyone else have to find their groove. We loved all our appetizers which are way above "typical bar food." Great portions for the price. The salad was so delicious. The dressing is really light and flavorful and there is a nice balance to all the ingredients. They split the salad for us, rather than just bringing two extra plates, which was a nice touch. ATMOSPHERE: We *love* the feel of the new location. We were really hopeful the new spot would be a departure from the Mokena location, which feels a bit cramped and dark. (sorry!) The Homewood location feels elegant, but comfortable, with nice neutral tones on the walls and the decor. There are TVs playing sports but somehow they recede and you don't really notice them. I love that they chose tables with a banquette seating on one side rather than booths. It gave it a more open, and modern, feel. The music was spot on and was part of the atmosphere without being intrusive. (Whoever chose the music... you did good... going from a new Vampire Weekend song to an old Jewel song, without it being weird, or jarring, isn't an easy feat... kudos to you) PARKING: While immediate parking around the restaurant is hit or miss, you can park at either Village Hall or the Metra Station (per a sign on their window) and there are several other free parking lots within a short walk. The bottom line, this is a new location and finding the groove of the new space, but they're already doing a bang up job. A little grace, and patience, might be necessary at the beginning, but no doubt they'll get there quickly. SPG is a wonderful addition to Homewood and we can't wait to try it again! Best of luck to all of you and welcome to the neighborhood!

Where do I begin? This was not a good dining experience whatsoever! I will not be returning anytime soon. Maybe I will give them another shot a year from now, if they course-correct and are still around. The SERVICE: Our waitress was sweet and friendly but seemed totally lost. She took forever to bring us waters. Actually brought my beer out first but not my fiancée’s. We had to eventually ask another worker to bring the other beer. Then she must have input my burger order wrong because a couple bites in I realized something was off. The FOOD: Food was NOT GOOD. We ordered the smash burger and the buffalo chicken egg rolls. How the heck do you mess up THAT!? The burger was so bland. And dried out. The cheese was basically non-existent. And then it was missing the “bacon jam” that was supposed to come on it. All I asked was to add lettuce tomato and raw onion. So I don’t know how she took that as only wanting that on my burger. The egg rolls were worse. It literally just tasted like plain chicken with some buffalo sauce on it. Like the chicken was not seasoned even in the slightest. And on top of that it was over cooked! This place needs to get it together. The space can be really nice, especially come summer time when they can open all the windows. But the service and the food has a long way to go.

I usually dine at the Steak House across the street, but I thought I’d give this place a try. My selections left a lot to be desired. A completely tasteless Chipotle Chicken Salad and the Baked Potato was lacking as well. The Smoked Blackberry drink was not to my liking. Prior to tonights dine in session, I’m glad I scrolled past this restaurant when making Door Dash choices. The customer service was pretty bad as well. And to add insult to injury, I felt completely violated that they tacked on a mandatory gratuity. My experience was so unappealing that I couldn’t wait to leave. The wait staff needs a bit more training on making customers feel appreciated. Not a fan, one and done.

I have went to this place numerous time and loved it! This around the service was horrible! Myself and a friend dined in and then ordered togo also. We had a few appetizers and entrees as well. The food was good except the lamb chops. They were tough and when we told the waiter Lynn she just said oh ok. Was not offered any kind of let me make this right. Basically we paid for something that was not worth it. Secondly my order to go was a a Cajun Cobb salad and was fixed missing several items and the lettuce was old. I didn’t notice until I got home and of course it was too late. I called the next day and talked to manager Nick. The worst customer service in the universe. I told him the situation and all this man said was I can give u $1 off the next time u order. I then said I just would like my $14 bucks back and in the nastiest way he said make sure u bring the salad too. Are u kidding me? How about I will never order again and never return and let my friends know about this horrible experience. You probably shouldn’t have him on the front line of customer service. I could have been anyone and no one deserves to be treated as such. In my eyes every one makes mistakes but fine a way to fix it would have been the proper thing to do. I ask him did he need my name he said no just ask for me or another manager. I have been I higher positions dealing with the public and I would never, it was basically an insult. Considering this place just opened in Homewood, you probably should treat your customers better in light of hoping the business doesn’t fail. Totally...

What an enjoyable happy hour! We sat outside and Logan to phenomenal care of us. He made great recommendations and didn't miss a beat. All our requests were accommodated without falter. The food was especially delicious for bar food. This restaurant put an elegant spin on finger foods. The bleu cheese chips are light and the flavor is not overwhelming (I asked for tomatoes to add to the them as they didn't have pico, they should consider pico as a garnish for the dish). The bruschetta is perfect, lightly toasted so you get a bit of crunch but also soft buttery bread. The balsamic is grand in the bruschetta mix. Those are the highlights from HH. We also ordered the tomahawk sliders, which were cooked to our specific medium tem, even leaning on the medium rare side (for one, thx Logan for accommodating my request on a shared dish). Last but not least the cocktails, theeeeeee cocktails were a highlight. The spicy paloma was delightful and paired well with the apps and lavender cocktail was a great finish to my meal experience. I will try the salted espresso martini for dessert next time. I will most certainly be back. Awesome specials and they even have. $1 wings on Wed and Sundays (football). I'd say it's worth checking out, I live in Chicago and plan on trekking to Homewood many more times to try the entire menu....when Logan works, he made an impression. 20+ years in hospitality and I can appreciate optimal service with...
