Stopped here with my mom and I had really nice time. Cons - Ordering was ok, the woman taking our order seemed a little confused when we would tell her our order, so we had to repeat ourselves a few times. - Another downside is the menu doesn't tell you what comes on The burger your ordering and the cashier expects you to know. -We told them our order was for here because they asked but they give everyone their order in a paper bag anyways, no tray or anything which was ok i guess, why ask if its for here or to go then? Pros - The atmosphere of the whole place was comfortable, there was not one table sitting in an awkward silence. We all were just having our own conversations and some people were there before we got there and still there when we left and I thought we stayed awhile but thats a good thing! -The food was really really good! the burgers are delicious and huge! ---------honestly the best part about that place was the onion rings, they were cooked to perfection. Not oily or anything, crunchy and the onion didn't slide out of the whole thing before you were done with it, they also gave you a good amount of them when ordered. Next time I will take more photos of the place so you can see what I mean about the Atmosphere and the menu.. etc..

Stopped in after Googling nearby spots for lunch while furniture shopping in the area. Had to try this little hotrod burger diner from the 60s. My girlfriend and I both got the standard sized smash burger with bacon added, some spicy cheese curds, 'Jimmies' (their fries/onion rings combo) and 2 milkshakes (banana/orange). Place was packed at around 1PM and clearly had a following of regulars and locals, specifically car guys and their families. Always warms my heart to see that sense of community still present in a long established small business. The side portions were a little small but those curds were fantastic and had a nice kick. The burgers were massive but really good and home style. Might get a '4 inch Double' next time instead of the single 6 inch given the size of the bun and burger format. One of the better burgers in Denver and a cozy blast from the past inside.

13 years I've lived in Denver and now I finally get myself to this burger joint. This is the one in Thornton, on 88th Avenue between Washington and Grant. I've never been an enthusiastic burger-eater, but this place has the friendly staff, laid-back and family-friendly atmosphere, a quirky 50s/60s vibe, and definitely easy-on-the-wallet prices for the food. Portions are big and plentiful. I ordered the 6-inch Classic-Double with a side of onion rings and I couldn't finish it on my own. Lots of tables and seats, and a huge parking lot outside. Go - it's different and definitely one of the better mom-and-pop burger joints around the metro Denver area. Updated August 2022: back to this neighborhood gem for a Sunday lunch. Still good food, good prices, friendly service. A different kind of good compared to McD's, In & Out, Smashburger, etc.

Jim's Burger Haven, a 3 out of 5 burger at a 1 out of 5 place.

On the surface, Jim's is an appealing retro diner that has dedicated itself to everything that is ground beef and between two buns. Some of that dedication has manifested in success and some of that dedication has fallen on deaf ears.

Greeted by an odd/uncomfortable layout was an ordering station on the opposite side of the building from where most entered. Parallel to where were walking was the menu so that all that we were greeted by was the helpful face of the friendly staff, when we could finally get in position to read the menu we were less than 10 feet from the register creating an awkward situation where it felt rushed to place our order.Luckily, no one else was in line, and we took our time. My wife ordered a small double and i ordered a large single. Perplexed by this, I was curious to see the outcome.

Walking away from the register we realized how dire the interior was in comparison to the relatively well appearing exterior. Carpeted floors, bench seats as old as I am, and tables and chairs strewn about in a nonsensical manner decided that this was an eat outside restaurant. Waiting on our food, which came quickly, really set in just how long the restaurant had gone through mediocre care and next to no renovation.

Sure enough her burger was a standard fast food sized burger, while mine was what can only be described as a child's wagon wheel of a bun with a very large and thin patty. Overall both burgers were executed to satisfaction and we were happy with the food that we had ordered and eaten.

I think that Jim's Burger Haven has great potential, there is a good, quick attentive, staff and a good product, it just can' be properly appreciated in such an adverse...

Jim's Burgers Haven is definitely a flashback to the 1950's and, depending on where you grew up, that can be either a good thing or a bad. That's the best way to describe their food, as well. I ordered a double, no cheese, with everything plus guacamole and bacon (both of which are extra costs), regular fries and Mello-Yello to drink. The results were mixed. They're regular burger is a 6 inch "smash burger" with one patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mustard. For some reason, deleting the cheese was very difficult to do because I got it anyways (I'm lactose intolerant). After returning the wrong order, I got a fresh burger (with fresh fries, a nice bonus). My burger was ok. Just ok. The customer had little discernable flavor, the bacon wasn't quite crispy enough and everything else got lost in a jumble of too many toppings, ridiculously huge buns either too much of this, not enough of that. I wasn't disappointed, just perplexed at who could eat this much and why they would want to in the first place. The real star read their fries. I'm my opinion, they're better than McDonald's and Wendy's, my 2 favorites. Salty, hot, fresh: perfection in a cooked potato. Service was great! The hostess smiled, was friendly and quick to take my order. A solid A+ effort for quality customer care. Overall, it's really a shame their burgers aren't a little smaller, more focused on consistency and their order-takers, cooks or linemen didn't pay attention to detail. I'd rather have a great, small burger than a big, meh-burger. If it weren't for the excellent service, they would've gotten a 2 star review. Thank goodness for service...
