Can’t figure out how to edit my other review so I’m posting a new one. Been going here for years it’s been amazing. Except for tonight there was poop in my shrimp. When I told them, I was informed by my server that management said ā€œwe don’t do that hereā€ referring to deveining the shrimp… that’s disgusting. Management couldn’t even come and talk to me themselves…I didn’t notice it til the pieces towards the end because I always leave the two end pieces… I showed them, they wouldn’t do anything about it not even an apology from management for the issue and they brushed it off. Didn’t even care that it was in the shrimp because ā€œwe don’t do that hereā€ … like that’s a health issue. I didn’t even ask for a full refund that’s my issue. I straight up said I don’t expect a full refund or refund due to almost finishing it before I found out I would never expect that for food I ate that much of all I asked for was it they could do half off on the plate of sushi but they essentially said you get nothing… not even a formal apology from management. I just think that this was so poorly handled by the company especially when I’m pulling it apart and showing it to you. Very unprofessional breaks my heart after going here for so long. The rest of the food that didn’t have shrimp tempura was good as always though. The experience just left a bad taste in my mouth literally and...

I’ve been coming to Sumo for years, probably over 200 times, and it’s sad to see how much this place has changed. My recent visit was easily the worst experience I’ve ever had here.

From the moment we walked in, the waiter was unnecessarily rude and rushed us to order — despite the restaurant being nearly empty, two hours after opening. When I asked for a little more time, he came back less than a minute later, clearly impatient.

When the food arrived, I was shocked. My sushi roll looked like it was thrown together — half of it had fallen apart and was sitting off to the side of the plate. It looked like a kid made it. I wish I had taken a photo because it genuinely looked like it was sent out carelessly. To make things worse, the sushi chef kept staring at me the entire time, which made the experience feel really uncomfortable and almost hostile.

I’ve never left a bad review before, but this felt worth mentioning because I truly hope management reads this and takes it seriously. This restaurant used to feel welcoming and consistent — now it feels like no one cares about quality or customer experience anymore. I won’t be coming back unless things change.

Ps, the rude waiter was a girl(I forgot her name but she was younger), and the rude sushi chef was an older man that seems to enjoy making his customers feel uncomfortable the entire time...

We have been to this restaurant multiple times in the past and never had any problems. However, yesterday's experience was highly unsatisfactory. It was our son's birthday, and we chose to celebrate here. What a colossal mistake. The server seemed friendly and took our order promptly. We ordered simple dishes, such as salmon roll, sashimi, and tempura. Although the shrimp tempura arrived quickly, that was the only dish we received for the first 35 minutes. The boys started complaining about how long it was taking. The server came by and said they were working on it, but it was evident that they were prioritizing other tables over ours. Meanwhile, the table next to us left, and they seated a new group of people who were served different types of rolls before us. When I called out our server, their excuse was that the new customers ordered rolls that could be made with other tables, so they received their orders first. This was unacceptable, and I was infuriated. The server tried to compensate by bringing some ice cream for my son, but that did not make up for the inconvenience we faced. If it weren't for the ice cream, my son's birthday celebration would have been ruined. Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this...

I was looking for a meeting happy hour spot AND sushi spot in general that's fairly close to home. I actually randomly found this place by driving by. I know weird right? Didn't even look it up before I went. But sometimes you've just got to do it. And if you get lucky you find an awesome new spot. Well that was the case for this place. Now that I've been here a few times. I think it's time for a review. Upon walking up to the door I was greeted immediately. Chose to sit outside in their tent area. Although they offer indoor seating I didn't opt for that on this visit. They have QRcode menus. Very easy to understand. Plenty of pictures of the food if you need to see them. Descriptions of the food are clear. I went with many things on the menu. The happy hour menu is very big for a happy hour menu. The prices are right and the food is delicious. I especially liked the garlic chili edamame. Would I recommend this place? Yes! The staff is all very nice. The menu is very easy to understand. I will definitely be returning here many times. Decor: New modern, clean. Staff: no issues they always make it right. Food: above average Bathroom: N/A didn’t use them.

My wife and had a rare date night and we haven't gone out for sushi since we moved to the area. I wanted a place that was affordable yet still had a nice atmosphere, and after doing some online research, Sumo kept coming up as something that might fit the bill. I'm happy to report that it did absolutely that and we had a wonderful time! It was busy, but not over-crowded and we were sat right away. The food was amazing and everything we got the bill was still tolerable. I'm keto and they were able to use cucumber instead of rice for rolls and it was really fantastic. I kind of wish there were more options of specialty rolls as a great deal of their rolls had either the krabmeat or tempura, but there was plenty of options and everything was fantastic. If you're looking for a sushi place, you shouldn't think twice about giving Sumo a try. Whether it's for a date night OR with the kids... this is really a great spot. So glad we found it!

Overall: 10/5 Service: 10/5 Quality of food: 5/5 Price: 10/5 Happy hour: 3-6pm - One of the best sushi we’ve had in a while! (The food was so good we dove right in and completely forgot to take pictures…until the very last roll) - They knocked the ball outta park with their service, our server had the entire menu memorized! He was able to list all ingredients to any roll we had asked. All the servers continued to check in on us during our time there and made sure we were enjoying the food. We love how all the staff greeted us as we entered and exited as well. Overall, we felt really cared for and that made the dining experience even more memorable! - Everything we ordered was delicious and definately hit the spot! (Beef yakisoba, Philly roll, crunch roll, gyoza, squid nigiri, snow roll, kara roll) - The best part is how affordable the menu was even without happy hour! (Most expensive roll was around $15)
