We came in based on the great reviews and I’m so glad we did. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated.
We came in for lunch but they use the same menu for lunch and dinner.
My husband and I both ordered the seafood platter. You can choose 2 seafood items (shrimp, flounder or oysters) or all three for an additional cost. We both ordered the shrimp and flounder. It comes with two side items. We both chose the brussel sprouts and I got the grits and he got the green beans. Our meals came out pretty quickly and were piping hot. Oh my gosh was it good. The flounder and the shrimp were both very lightly breaded. You can choose tarter sauce or cocktail sauce. Or both. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The fish was very flaky and the shrimp and fish both tasted very fresh. We each got two fish filets and eight shrimp. The sides were large. These might have been the lightest grits I’ve ever had. They were very light and airy which was surprising because I’m used to grits being pretty dense and heavier. They were super delicious. You could also get the grits baked with cheese. The brussel sprouts were superb. The molasses gives it a hint of sweetness. The green beans were a bit crunchy. We both commented on how much food there was. But it was so good that we ate every last bite.
They offer beer and wine.
Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. He checked on us often.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I would definitely...
Read moreAfter traveling all day and finally landing in Savannah I was starving and agreed to join the rest of my group for dinner at this restaurant, even though I don’t eat BBQ. I figured I’ll find something else on the menu. I ordered crab cakes, greens and Cole slaw. I didn’t like the crab cakes with shells in it nor did I like the greens. So despite being super hungry, I didn’t eat my meal. I was sure that my server would ask about my untouched plate and offer something different. By that time, I was so hungry I would’ve been happy with French fries. My plate sat in front of me 99% in tact for the entire duration of the meal. The server came by a couple of times individually asking the guys how they liked their meals, and wouldn’t even acknowledge me. I couldn’t believe she completely ignored my untouched plate and focused on the guys who had scarfed down their pork bbq. She did ask my son if he liked his meal and he told her that he ordered fries and instead she gave him green beans, which she corrected. I sat right next to him, ignored. When the check finally arrived, I asked her to remove my meal from the bill and she looked at me as though she couldn’t comprehend. She said the best she could do was discount my meal. Now THAT was funny. However in order to avert a fiasco, one of the guys said he would just take the food home and accepted the bill. This is really LOW country. I have...
Read moreShrimp and grits were cold , sent them back only to be told they checked in the back and they were not cold 😂 they remade it ( only asked for it to be headed up) came out still cold. Plate was hot as heck, food was barely warm. Southern rice was horrible. The brussel sprouts were amazing. If you are going to tell your customers they are wrong don't expect them to come back. I have never sent my food back at a restaurant in Savannah sice I moved here. You were the first. I will not be back ! . Let me respond to your comment. Yes you remade the dish , however I only asked for it to be reheated and I said please make sure it's steaming when it comes out. I don't know what with inspects mean but it was cold. And it was still cold after you remade it. About the rice there was a gentleman next to us who eats there all the time and told us how wonderful your barbecue was and how great your brussel sprouts were. He also agreed that your rice was not good. I have eaten in several seafood restaurants in Savannah in the last year. Also the many visits I made before I moved here. The rice was not good. Sorry but it tasted like rice covered in tomato paste. However what I didn't add before was my friend had your fried shrimp and she said it was...
