The Pub — Restaurant in Tifton

Well I am simply hoping that the bartender (Hunter) was simply having an off night this evening. I had seen so many good reviews. Since I am going to be working in the area for the next 6 to 7 months, thought I might find a spot to frequent. Well I sat at the bar, as it was just myself. I ordered my drink and began watching the NFL Draft. I was not the only one at the bar, and I am aware that locals do tend to get preferential treatment. So I set my empty class to the front edge, indicating that I would like another. I did tell her no rush, as she was busy stocking bar cooler. No big deal. So when did bring me my second drink, I asked for a menu. I received the menu immediately. I reviewed it and had my selections ready. She continued to walk me a number of times. Menu on the counter indicating that I am ready. Nothing.. Two gentlemen came in and set on my left. Received drinks and menus quickly. Thier order was taken, I was again ignored. Gentlemen came in and sat to my right. He ordered a glass of water and a menu. Got both, and ordered. I tried to get her attention to order, again ignored. At this point I asked for my check, and left. Yes I did still tip as I do understand having off days, but seriously I felt completely ignored and to be bothering if I needed something. My husband and I had dinner there last night to celebrate his upcoming birthday on Tuesday. We've been several times, but this was the first time we've been back in a while. As usual, the food was amazing! We ALWAYS get the stallion pizza, because in our book, it is the best pizza in Tifton or perhaps the world!! lol Seriously, it's that good! We started out with a basket of fries with spicy mayo and horseradish mayo for dipping. They have the best fries, too! We split the 10-inch pizza and split the deli sub, which was fantastic! He enjoyed a beer, and I sipped on a vodka cranberry with lime.... ok, two of them! Our server was sweet and kind! Towards the end, she became very busy, but still managed to check on us. We love the Pub! My husband has lived here all his life and has gone to the Pub since he was in high school (he is now 59). We look forward to going back for more stellar pizza...

I might be biased, but to me this is as "Tifton" as it gets. It's old, part of the history of Tifton, literally right on the highway 41 like in the Allman Brother's Rambling Man, and all the food we had was wonderful! The pizza was great, the Stallion (an homage to the local college ABAC and their stallion mascot) with all the toppings is my go-to... I am extremely grateful they've kept it as is despite the restaurant changing owners a couple of times over the years. The shrimp salad was gorgeous and all the apps were on point, and the drinks were not too expensive either! I NEVER go to or through Tifton without stopping by the pub (used to live there, but now am an out-of-towner). My only complaint is they dropped the "Lamplighter" as it was previously the Lamplighter Pub. But otherwise, it's one of my regular and favorite stops. ...
