R J's Hot Dog Stand — Restaurant in Tinicum Township

Not the kinda place you take a date or family, but.... okay in a pinch. Ive been here 4 or 5 times. The establishment is small inside and out. About 8-10 cars max can park there. About the same can fit in there. Even LESS IF YOU WANT TO EAT IN. The food is okay in a pinch. Speaking of PINCH...As stated I've been there a few times..... problem is, I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF AT LEAST HALF THE TIMES! Handed them a $50 dollar bill on time, (all I had), they gave me change for a $20! I caught them, they apologized. But it was so obvious..... YOU JUST KNEW! Another time ordered a Texas Tommy styled Hot Dog. They menu above CLEARLY STATES....$3.00 for the product. They charged me $4! I caught it, again, I even tipped them a dollar prior to paying. Thinking $4 TOTAL....NOT$5! You also get the idea and feeling it's real clickish there. They don't know you.... they're going to treat you..... HOWEVER. So, for me, HERE. That's all folks... NO MORE. NEVER AGAIN! ITS NOT ONLY BUYER BEWARE HERE..... IT'S BUYER (NEW ESPECIALLY), ....STAY AWAY! I'LL...

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review.

I ate at RJ’s after purchasing a truck across the street. Food was ok for a hot dog stand I guess. I called back about a year later (I couldn’t find the name of the dealership I had purchased my truck from) so I asked what the name of the dealership was. The lady on the phone immediately said “call them” and hung up. I called back and explained again that I was a previous customer only looking for the name of the dealership less than 50 feet away. She shouted the name of the dealership and hung up before I could get a thank you out. As a small business owner, this is not how you treat callers, no matter what their request is.

My rule: if someone calls a hair salon asking for a large pizza, you politely tell them it’s a hair salon and refer them to the best pizza place you know.

Doubt I’ll ever be back to Essington, PA but I know I won’t be coming back to this...

I stop here most days before work to grab breakfast. The service is amazing and so is the food. They even come out to my car to give my dog treats when I bring her with me. My order never takes more then 15 minutes max and that’s only because I call as I’m getting ready for work. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and not just breakfast food either. They do it all 🙌. Several years later and still my go to for everything. I stop here each day during the week and get my coffee and breakfast on my way into work. Less than $5 for coffee and breakfast. Now let’s talk about the service. Amazing just like the folks working inside. Some of the nicest people I have ever met and I find myself in there for a few minutes longer just talking about the week. 11 out of 10 and I pray yall never close ❤️. P.S Best coffee...
