I seem to be the minority or we caught them on a bad day from a professionalism standpoint. The actual unit is great, the sales rep was pleasant (he wasn't overly salsey) and same goes for whomever picks up the phone when we call. There is more to this process than a good $ deal. It is absolutely unprofessional to break a light bulb in a lamp & not tell the home owner. I heard it break & when my husband asked about it they said everything was fine. This was a blatant lie because when we turned the lamp on, there was a new warm light bulb. We use cool light bulbs. Additionally, there was a dirty water like liquid on the wall. When we brought it to Aurel's attention, he shrugged it off & he didn't even think to clean it up. The walls were clean before the job was done and should be clean afterwards. He didn't even think to offer to clean it up. There was also dirty finger marks on the ceiling wall and Aurel treated it the same way. It didn't stop there. In the beginning of the install, Dave, Aurel, and the third gentleman literally reached over my husband, continously knocked his cords out of the wall and never did they once say 'excuse me' or any of the sorts. Only the third gentleman apologized for knocking the cord out of the wall. My husband works from home & they could have knocked out a cord which would have a adverse effect on the project that he was working on. All because you are doing a installation in a house & the owners are home, it doesn't mean that you are the only ones working - this is common sense & courtsey for that matter! When they came down to work on the circuit breaker, they didn't even ask if it was ok to change the circuit breaker. Furthermore, after they replaced the circuit breakers, they left the old ones on the floor which is was their job to despose of safely. Also in the basement, they moved it around basement to access the wires without letting us know what was going on. If you are moving things around, as homeowners we have a right to know why! Later in the day, they were yelling across the house when I was on a call and there were curse words dropped. The first thing I told Dave when he entered the house was that I work from home & have a busy day ahead - complete disregard here. I am not a prude, but it is unacceptable that I had to apologize to my coworker for the yelling which they heard. Lastly, sharing 'dirty laundry' is the pinnacle of unprofessionalism. If someone leaves the company, please get your story together & have your employees align to it. It is a bad look for leaders to say one thing then techs to say another. Ultimately, only way I can describe it is that the whole experience was a knightmare in terms of lack of professionalism. Specifically Dave & Aurel need some sort of coaching or training on what professionalism looks like. It was insulting for Aurel to stress the need for us to leave a review because in the right mind he couldn't have really thought we were oblivious to how terrible the...
Read moreI had this company H & H Heating and Cooling come out to do a heater tune up, Pan Ngai was the technician that came. After doing what he did, he told me that the thermocouple and the valve were bad and needed to be replaced. He said it would cost, I believe it was over $1,500 to replace them. I said, I will get a second opinion on that. I asked him if the system is working and he said he shut it down. I asked him to please turn it back on, he said he cannot, due to safety issues. I again asked him to turn it on, he refused and he called someone, whom he said was his supervisor. They both started to try scare tactics to force me into doing the replacement, they even threatened to call the gas company. After much back and forth with them both, I insisted that they turned the system back on and I will get a second opinion, because frankly, I did not believe anything was wrong with the system. They were both emphasizing how old the system was etc. but I knew it was an “up sale” tactic, so they did not phase me. In the end, Pan left and didn’t turn the system on, that was ok, because, I had someone come and checked it right after he left, the new service person lit the pilot and said he didn’t see anything wrong. He further explained to me that if the thermocouple was bad, the pilot will not stay lit. The pilot is still on, no issues or gas explosion, like Pan and his supervisor alluded would happen if I did not change the valve and thermocouple. I went and did some research and discovered that if the pilot is out the system will go into safety mode and shut the gas off. It will not emit gas into the air like they were trying to convince me would happen. I will monitor it and get a reliable, honest company to do any repairs when it’s needed. I’m done with this company, second time I’ve used them and it’s the last time. In April when they came out to service the A/C, the rep was trying to get me to change the system because of the age of it, cost would have been around $15,000, it’s working fine and it has gone through the summer with no issues. So the age of it is not an issue, the representatives from this company are the issue. Buyer be aware, always get a second opinion on these people when they want to do repairs on your system. The price of the thermocouple is approximately $25 or less, the valve is around $250 at Home Depot, yet he wanted to charge me $1,500....
Read moreMy parents had a service contract with the company prior to me purchasing their home, about three weeks ago the heater stopped working. They immediately locked out the unit and informed my parents (who don’t own the house anymore) they would need a new unit and immediately dispatched a sales representative.
When I received a call that the heat was not working -as the landlord of the property , I ensured that I was there when the representative arrived …since I was paying for it. The representative dismissed me, until my father informed him I was paying for this.
I informed the sales representative that I wanted to get at least two more quotes and I had other companies coming that day . I told him that I would let him know, one way or another which route was being taken. My family has used H&H for the past 15 years, the representative informed me that there was no repair possibility of this unit, and I needed to spent $7800 MINIMUM on a new unit.
Another company came out , informed me that yes a new unit was possible however what was needed could have been repaired.
I appreciated their honesty and I gave them the sale since the new unit was more efficient, and still the same brand as my old one, on top of being 6500, not 7800. Saving me $1300.
At this point, H&H proceeded to call my father (not me) six times the rest of that day , and into the next day. The sales tactics they used were unethical, as well as the outright refusal to speak to the owner of the home from the start. I will not be using this company, but Boyle will have both of my properties serviced from here out, as well as my...
