I NEVER post negative reviews about local restaurants since I want our local community and small businesses to grow, but our experience tonight was so terrible that I felt it was necessary to warn others. My husband and I arrived at 6pm tonight, Friday, February 16th, and were seated immediately, since it wasn’t overly busy, in a great location next to the window overlooking the water. We were very pleased with the ambiance of the room and were excited to taste some wine and delicious food. We used the QR codes to look at their menu (even though the host said he would bring us physical menus but forgot to) and made up in our minds what we’d like to try. After about 10 minutes after being seated, we looked around to see if our waitress saw we were seated. 10 minutes AFTER THAT, another couple was seated near us so we asked the host that was seating them if our waitress knew we were seated in her section (now 20 minutes after arriving). They said they would check. Another 5 minutes went by and our waitress showed up seemingly completely unaware still that we had been there nearly 30 minutes without being acknowledged, asking if we needed a physical menu or wanted time to look over our options. We said we’d been there for a little over 20 minutes so we knew what we wanted. We started with the wine. It took nearly 10 more minutes for her to bring a small sample of white wine for me (which was warm) and my husband’s full glass of red to him. We ordered appetizers and our meals at the same time to try to make sure it would come out a bit quicker. The appetizers we ordered were the fried artichokes and the warm focaccia. It took at least 20 minutes for these 2 items to get delivered. The artichoke heart parts were very hard inside and not cooked. The marinara dipping sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce except a huge chunk of garlic my husband found while dipping. The focaccia bread is NOT focaccia. The closest I could compare it to is Texas toast consistency, where you squish it, it flattens completely. Focaccia is a nice dense Italian bread that doesn’t flatten nearly at all, but they still call their bread focaccia. For our actual entrées, I ordered the truffles mushroom raviolis. It showed up in what looked like dishwater. There was no creamy sauce, just a soggy watery mess. The filling tasted like over-salted cheese filling, no hint of mushroom at all. It was completely inedible. My husbands steak was well prepared but underwhelming in flavor overall. In the end, for the 2 of us, it took an hour and a half for dinner, cost us $120 for food plus the $24 for tip to have one of the worst Italian meals I think I’ve ever had. Besides the pretty dining room, my husband and I left feeling completely disappointed...
Read moreThis is Titusville's newest addition and I'm loving it! The owners aren't strangers to this town as they have 2 other restaurants in the area. I think they have a goldmine with this one. The drinks and food are both equally good! They offer something different than what's already in town so I know they'll succeed.
First things first. The renovations are beautiful! They have transformed this building into a beautiful oasis. The back covered dining area with the fireplace is calling my name once it gets cooler. Seating is comfortable. Lights are bright but one negative in my opinion. It's too loud inside. My guest and I had to sit next to each other in order to hear. We literally felt like we were yelling our orders to our waiter who was awesome by the way. Parking can be a little tricky as well. Since they are new, they are busy so you may have to drive around to find a spot.
The drink menu offers 24 wines on tap! I thought that's such a better concept in preserving the freshness of each bottle. They also have craft beer and cocktails. I chose to order the Black Rose Mule which was made perfectly! I love that they use metal straws in their drinks to help with the environment. Next visit I'm checking out their Control Burn cocktail which comes out with smoke in the glass.
We split the Burrata appetizer which was fantastic. Comes with fresh Burrata, charred tomatoes, peppadews, balsamic drizzle and delicious focaccia bread. This would make a great lunch with a glass of wine. Next visit I'm trying the local fish dip and charcuterie. There were tables around us that ordered these items and they said it was very good.
For my entree I decided to get the 100 layer lasagna. Best freaking lasagna I've had in a long time! It's made with a short rib bolognese. Need I say more? The marinara was well balanced. The whole dish was satisfying. I told my guest that it was complete comfort food! I should point out that the entrees do not come with salads or bread. Those items are a la cart. We were too full for dessert so next visit I'm going to make sure I check out one of the house made...
Read moreI went out to dinner with a few friends. We each ordered an entree, And shared brussel sprouts a starter. My dining partners shared a salad, and we received focaccia bread free as part of a promotion. Myself and a dining partner had wine, which can be ordered in a 2.5 Oz, 5 oz, carafe, or quart sizes. 5 oz glasses of wine ran $10 roughly. There was also a selection of craft beer for roughly $5 a piece.
Entrees ranged around $15 to $20.
The appetizers ranged from $6 to $9, and the side salad was somewhere around $5.
The focaccia bread was three 1 in thickness by roughly 6 in lengths, served with olive oil and Romano cheese. This is on the menu at $8.99 and I would not purchase it at this price, though I can say it was very good. I'm glad we got it for free rather than having to purchase it.
The brussel sprouts well worth the money, and we're doused in some form of vinaigrette sauce.
My dining companions said the salad was average, and brought down by the pickled onions which caused a sour note.
I ordered cacio e Pepe, which oddly had prosciutto layered on top. Other than needing more pepper. This was satisfactory. The pasta was a good quality bucatini.
One dining partner had mushroom ravioli, of which I had a taste. Good quality pasta and ingredients with enjoyable mushroom sauce.
My other dining partner had a bucatini alfresca pasta dish from the vegan menu, which had some form of olive oil-based sauce and heirloom tomatoes. I also had a taste of this and it was rather good.
Service was prompt and cheerful, with helpful suggestions. The dining room was sparse and mostly bare of decorations.
The entire bill for three people with one serving of alcohol each, and entree each, and appetizer and a side salad was...
