What a disappointment! We've been here whenever we are vacationing in the Poconos. During the pandemics, we support the business and ordered pick-ups by giving at least 10% tips each time. The owner is a very decent and hard-working man, and I enjoyed the chats with him. Today we drove from 2 hours away to our vacation house and made a special stop by going 40 minutes longer to take out some wings and sides and desserts from this restaurant. The cashier and server messed our order by missing two items--large Mac & cheese and banana pudding, which are my kids’ most wanted items on their menu (ordered and paid on the receipt but didn't give us--picture attached to show all items we received). The kids figured out that the two items were missing when they opened the bags in the car several minutes after we left the restaurant and headed back to our vacation house (40 minutes away from the restaurant). I didn't consider it a big deal, so I just called to inform them that they forgot the items in the order. I thought that they might be busy and they could just make amend whenever I visit the restaurant in the next couple of days (yes, we just loved this place that much). However, do you know how the employees treat their loyal customers? First, the cashier asked many questions to “try to find my receipt” to refund me electronically. When I indicated that it was okay—a refund wasn’t necessary--they could just amend the missing items when I revisit the store in the near future. Then the cashier suddenly changed her tune and said that they couldn't refund me electronically ( why did you offer?) unless I present my card in person in the restaurant or show up in 72 hours to have my missing items reissued. I mean, it's the restaurant’s fault for messing up customers’ orders. What did the customers do wrong? I told her that the one-way drive from my house to the restaurant is 40 minutes and a round trip is one and half hours. It's unfair and inconvenient for the customer with their ridiculous 72-hour rules. The cashier and server were just like, “it's your problem.” not even apologize for their mistakes. What an attitude! The cashier said that she took my number for the owner to call me, maybe around 7:00 tonight. I haven't heard anything yet. Very disappointed. Horrible attitude. Ridiculous 72 hours “rules” for the restaurant’s own mistakes. Terrible, terrible service! I couldn't imagine the business can go far with this quality...
Read moreI come from Buffalo NY where Anchor Bar dealt the first wings. 4 months ago my daughter in law told me she tasted the best wings ever. I couild not imagine. We have had so many different wings and that just sounded impossible. But as it turns out, hidden in a strip mall in the Poconos is wingz and a prayer. We passed by the day before and the line was out the door, It was a bit rainy on the Sunday we visited so the line was short. When you walk in the place is so friendly and nice. The list of wing topping is extensive. The staff there was so engaging and friendly. The aroma of the food was intoxicating. There was a Caribbean influence. The mac and cheese looked amazing. There were homemade meat patty's and so much more. I could not believe my eyes. So we ordered 66 wings with 6 different toppings. I got smoked berry on the recommendation of a worker who said that was the most ordered. These wings were amazing. The wings themselves were juicy and cooked perfectly and the sauces were added perfectly. We were in heaven. The owner proudly brought over a chunk of corn bread. It was so delicious and delicate. The Mac and Cheese was equally as good. There have been no wings ever that have met this standard. This is worth a 2 hour drive from NYC just for the experience. I so highly recommend this place. Also, they have baked goods. Their huge chocolate chip cookies were amazing.
They get points for their decor and flowers on the tables outside. This also was an exceptional touch. Lastly they get points for a really clean bathroom.
At the core of this business is a multicultural group of workers who are men and women of faith. Yes, there Christian faith is shown in everything they do and it really shows. It is like being in Heaven. They in no way push it on you, yet you feel really great about being there. This is one of the most refreshing and exciting places I have visited in a long long time and I promise I will be back.
The chef is a master at flavor. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and many thanks to all the staff who are so amazing and helpful. We came with 3 adults and 4 kids. The picture of me is a bit silly but it was worth...
Read moreThis place is great. I was in the area for the outlet shopping in Tannersville and I searched "wings near me". Thank God Google showed me this place. OUTSTANDING wings. Tons of sauce options. I got bone in with the buffalo garlic sauce. When I was done ordering I said to my wife "damn, I forgot to say extra crispy." Didn't matter. They came out with a perfect crisp. Delicious buffalo garlic sauce. Wish it had a bit more garlic but I'm crazy with the garlic. These were very, very good wings. Huge and meaty. Got an order of 6 and was blessed with 7. 3 flats/4 drums. My wife had the boneless with sweet teriyaki. Again, just tremendous chicken. Perfect crisp. Meaty bites. Still juicy meat. The sweet teriyaki was good. My wife gets teriyaki wings wherever we go and she said this was very good teryaki. We Also had the fries and they were also tremendous. They put some sort of seasoned batter on them and they were addicting. Top 10 fries I've ever had in my life. The crisp was incredible and the inside was like mashed potatoes. The 2 guys working the place were very nice. Both of them asked if we enjoyed our food and were just some real pleasant dudes. Laid back, casual atmosphere. Some high top tables and stools and some lounge chairs in a circle that had a coffee shop vibe I think that would be my one and only critique. Most of the space is taken up by these comfy chairs surrounding a coffee table. Looked comfortable for sitting but terrible for eating wings. No where to put your plate. They be better with jsut a bunch of high top tables and the small counter along the wall. I don't know. Just my observation. Anyways, If you're up in the Poconos shopping at the outlets go to this place if you like wings. Go. Immediately if you live nearby. You will not regret it. Excellent wings. 15 minutes from the outlets. So happy I found these guys. I'll...
