Waffle House — Restaurant in Toccoa

I wish I could leave a higher rating today, however, I wouldn’t feel comfortable at all in doing so. Let me first say that my husband and I walked in to the restaurant and were greeted with not a “Hello” or “Welcome” but with a sit wherever...keep in mind their back was to us so we have yet to see a pair of eyes. We get seated and order our drinks which are brought out rather promptly. The waitress never said a word to us just left them on the table and walked away. When she finally made her way back to us she stood out our table with her pad and pen without even asking if we were ready to order. Maybe 10 words were spoken between us throughout the entire visit. Our food comes out quickly and my husband noticed right away his order wasn’t correct in the least but we didn’t mention it. Our glasses were dirty and were never even offered a refill. Been to one waffle House you been to them all zero but this one is the real life horror stories you hear about waffle House. It's in a back woods town ( whick I have no problem with, love the country) and I mean way past deliverence; out of the 5 employees working there, they have a combined total of 5 teeth. One of the waitress won't stop talking to you about her 7th kid by the 5th guy and she's only 26. The other one is just dirty. If you had to work on your car early in the day, take a shower and scrub some of that grease off before you come into work. And if your hair is falling out, wear a hair net. Me and the other 6 in our group all sent are good back because hair was on the plate; IN PLAIN SIGHT!!! Eat here at you on...

I eat here very often. The staff are expected to be very verbally welcoming, and they are. It's unfair that the wait staff are paid as wait staff, but they are required to perform far more cleaning of the restaurant as a whole, windows, etc.

I've known families who work here. I always encourage staff to buy the stock, but these are the working poor. The company takes advantage of their employees' need for employment and fear to request a pay adjustment.

Updated menues are bring price increases again. Corporate greed at It's best, not inflation.
