This bar is perfect, and there's a reason it's been there forever: It's because it's perfect.
This is that bar you go to after a long day at work to sit at the bar and have a few to unwind a little before going home, and it's also the place where you meet a friend you haven't seen in years, because you hardly ever have to wait long for a table, and the booths are nice and clean and comfortable and the there's just enough noise that no one can overhear your conversation, and it's just enough volume to where you can speak at normal volume and not have to shout to be heard.
It's also where you go to get good, high-quality bar food, and I do not mean that sarcastically. Everyone craves bar food every once in a while, but some is better than others, and this place's food happens to be very good. It's clean, it's good ingredients, and it's cooked well.
This is not the place where you go to have a waitress read your mind and show up just when you need her. There's usually only 3 people working; two behind the bar, and one waiting tables. Now, these women do an excellent job, and if you have even just a dash of that old measure of human decency we call patience, then you won't have any problems. But if you're the guy who can't read the room and realize your waitress is literally flying around the place serving 9 other tables besides your own and you feel that gives you the right to get nasty with her, then don't come here, it's just not the place for you.
Seriously though the women on staff here are excellent. I would say you can expect to wait no more than 6 - 8 minutes before she'll round back to your table to ask if you need anything else.
This place has also won many awards for their burgers. I also highly recommend their fried pickles. EVERYONE, loves their fried pickles. Hell, my picky little toddlers who don't like ANYTHING, love their fried pickles. Do yourself a favor and order the fried pickles, especially if you've never had them before.
They have a typical draught selection (no budweiser, just bud light 😢) and a pretty good bottled section (new castle, rolling rock, etc.), and the girls behind the bar mix great vodka martinis.
Like I said before, it's the...
Read moreCame in on a Saturday after work. I Googled places near to me that I could order a hamburger and grab a drink while I wait. I drove a few miles away to come here because it indicated Google reported that it was open. I walked in a few minutes before 9pm. I sat waiting patiently in a booth for several minutes (almost 14 to be exact). Then a young women came over and said very matter in IDC tone ...... " actually the kitchen is closed." Ughh ya.... ya....( I can't convey the condescending tone in text. Mind you i hadnt spoken a work or even looked her way. She did not say the kitchen is closed can I get you a drink? Which I would have gladly just settled on a drink or two. I sort of just looked at her surprised. Zero hospitality offered. Zero customer service extended. As much as it was disappointing I understand folks running the kitchen want to go home. I wouldn't have expected for them to stay for me anyways. Maybe, I missed where Google stated: Open until 10:30 Food service closed at 9pm. But, it doesn't say that. It just says it's open. The unfortunate part for her is I was intending on leaving an amazing tip for someone tonight. As I just have been paid on my company profit sharing as well as a sizeable commission check. Even if i had just ordered a drink. But, the bartenders lack of basic customer service and how sales tie into her role at the bar She neglected to offer me an opportunity to purchase a product/drink). I've been here in the past mainly day time and service was good and food is great. In a town where there are so many bar and grills I'll be taking my money elsewhere and so...
Read moreWent in on 11/21 - very slow night. Server was good but the food - had better at a Taco Bell. The burger had no flavor, bland and dry. The onion slivers that were on the top were burnt. The only saving grace was the bbq sauce for the Western BBQ burger. And even the sauce wasn't all that great. The chips were that .... potato chips from a bag probably. The cheese steak sub just looked weird, no taste, the mushrooms were from a can. Onion rings were ok - my mom makes better homemade onion rings, these were from some frozen bag - and same thing, no flavor. They had generic pops - no pepsi products, just some 'cola.' as she called it. the lemonade was ok. That was about the only thing that was decent for a $30 meal. This is one place that I will NEVER go to again. It was gross and it was like eating baby food --- just as bland. Not impressed at all. Avoid this place people - go down the street...
