China Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Toledo

China Palace is one of those small "mom and pop/hole in the wall" locations that has some of the best Chinese food found in the Toledo area. We used to run all the way out to a place in Perrysburg but we found this place by accident after living in the area for 3 years.

One of the cooler things they do is if you get your order for pickup they give you free items depending on how much you spend. 10 dollars is a free pop, 15 is free egg drop soup, 20 is crab rangoon and I think for 30 you get a thing of General Tso Chicken. (those numbers might not be correct, going off of memory)

The crab rangoon is one of my favorite things. It's made fresh and you can tell in the flavor of it.The fried rice is generally quite good and isn't dry like a lot of Chinese joints and while I can't comment on a ton of the food, the General Tso chicken is really good. We typically get that and sweet and sour. The sweet and sour chicken comes with the chicken chunks and they give you the sauce on the side. The chicken is typically really good too (also not dry).

We can typically eat here for about 20 dollars for 5 of us which I think is a pretty great deal. If you're in the area try it. It might be hard to find (it's in the corner of the shopping area and doesn't stand out) but it...

Food was not great and absolutely not worth the hassle. The restaurant forgot 1 entire meal. I had to run twice. It happens. I saw a promo for if you ordered a certain amount you get a free item. I spent $40 and asked if the coupon could apply? The man said no then lecturer me how just because they advertise in store doesn't mean they honor it in store. I was beyond frustrated at this point. The guy at the front counter went as far as having a carryout menu saying your next $40 order can have this. He said online prices were cheaper which is why he wouldn't honor it. So I can't use it online because cost is so low and not instore because its online only. Then he said to just call in the order but then it would be instore. At this point of being told I have to order another $40, having to run twice just to be talked down to like it was my fault the food wasn't there. Just avoid like the plauge. If I could give zero stars I would. I order from here all the time-the same thing. As I was eating a spring roll I noticed something odd and hard in my mouth. I took it out and it was a piece of metal, thank God I didn’t swallow it. I then called the restaurant, even though I ordered through DoorDash, to inform them. The guy had me send him a picture, then proceeded to tell me it’s impossible this was in the spring roll because it’s too big-it was folded and I unfolded it to see how big it was. I said to him so you’re telling me I’m lying. He said no but it’s impossible. Shoot I was just as confused as he was. He then said call DoorDash and request a refund. I said to him you just loss a customer and he hung up on me. Welp! Back to China King...
