Stopped out for lunch today. First of all, they jacked the prices way up. A burger is now $13.50 and comes with bagged kettle chips...fries are $2 more! I ordered the chicken finger basket with honey mustard. I got 4 tiny pieces of way over-fried chicken bites, which were hard to chew. They charged me .89 cents for my honey mustard...isn't it customary to get dipping sauce with chicken tenders? My husband ordered a fried bologna sandwich and wanted it on grilled white bread instead of a bun. They put it on cold white toast...not grilled. Yes, there is difference. Service was not good. Watched a waitress on her cell phone, running her fingers through her hair and then shaking the hair off her hands onto the floor where she was standing. An older gentleman walked through the restaurant to the bar to get his water refilled because his waitress never came back to his table. When he went back to his seat, his waitress proceeded to stand there and complain about it to the cook. Not sure if this is all because of the new ownership, but definitely won't be back...
Read moreI gave it two stars. The reason being is that once we found a booth to sit in it took 10 minutes for the waitress to get back to us where we were sitting. On top of that when we had our food brought to us everything was fine, the food was delicious, however my friend Sherry found hair in her food, on her french fries. I respectfully called the waitress two or three times and she did not come back to our booth so I physically had to get up and walk over to where she was to ask her to come back to our booth. She acted surprised when I told her that was hair on her food however she took Sherry's food off the bill. The one thing I would say is that anybody that's working in a kitchen should be wearing here nuts instead of letting your hair hang. Will I go over there again to have a bite to eat? Absolutely not because this is happened a couple different times when my friend Sherry and a couple other friends went in to eat at Nick...
Read moreThis place has quite the reputation of being a long term Toledo hold out for bar food and drinks.
It's basically just a "go find a seat" place and the server will get to you. I was there with an old friend, so we didn't get much. I ordered a Rueben and a Blue Moon (my favorite). The food was good. It was nothing fancy, which is just fine by me. I don't always need a twist on my favorite foods, so it's nice to see standard offerings.
Either way, it's very much bar with a little bit of sports bar vibe dropped in. It was very clean, and the server staff was excellent.
Pricing was reasonable and I would say the portion size was perfect. In fact, I'm pretty sure this meal cost me only slightly more than a combo meal at some fast food places.
Parking outside was ample, and it was a short walk inside.
I would recommend anyone that wants a quick bite that doesn't want to go to fast...
