This place is awesome, every single time ! Except on Mondays when they are closed and we forgot or didn't know, like earlier this week , Monday as a matter of fact. . But thankfully Friday rolled around and we were able to feed our ever growing crave for the Minneli. We have tried plenty of other sandwiches, but the Minneli does it for us. I've had it on rye, and it's good, but put it on their crusty sub roll... hands down the best sandwich around. As we were waiting for our sandwiches, for the first time, I noticed some signs on the wall boasting best restaurant according to Yelp, well duh ! I shouldn't be surprised, I've been saying this for years now. And As I look around at other people enjoying their sandwich, bobbing that head in appreciation and approval, I just want to do an impromptu interview and ask others what their fave is. I'm pretty sure I could sway some of those people to the Minneli, that's how confident I am in its deliciousness. Is that even a word? IDK, but I'm keeping it in the review. The service has gotten so much better, the staff is starting to recognize and welcome guests as they come in, and today the owner was able to take a walk thru the seating area and engage with a few tables. Good job ! As often as we've been here, never seen that before, and maybe because he is just too busy in the back making those delicious sandwiches. As much as I love Tony's and as often as we return, it would be wrong of me not to mention the prices, because some people are of the opinion that this place is too expensive. I'm not going to argue that, as it may seem to be an issue with some, but I will say as with everything in life , you get what you pay for. Yeah, my Minneli is pricey, I think the sandwich alone is like $13 or 14dollars and if you want to make it a combo with chips and a drink, that's another $3.50. So yeah, you are paying premium prices, but you're getting premium food. I would, and I do, happily pay this price and get what i know is going to be an incredible sandwich, rather than spend maybe 4 bucks less and get 'subway/subpar' food. We will continue to be patrons here, and I will always recommend this sandwich shop and maintain that it deserves to have the "best of" recognition that Yelp has...
Read moreWent into the deli on 9/6/25 thinking I would have a good experience per usual. This time that wasn’t the case! When I got my sandwich it wasn’t toasted the way it usually is, it was just the bread with melted cheese. I took the sandwich back to the counter to ask them to toast it for me. Immediate the manager on duty gave me a nasty look. The gentleman at the register took my sandwich with no problem, but when I sat down they were calling me back to the pickup window. The manager gave nothing but attitude, telling me that the bread is toasted because the cheese is melted. I said sir just because the cheese is melted doesn’t mean it’s toasted, he argued with me saying he put it in the oven, etc. so I said so you think it’s toasted to your liking but not mine, the person that’s eating it huh? His response well I will toast the half that you did not bite off. I asked so you can’t replaced the whole sandwich because I bit a piece, that’s how I even confirmed that it wasn’t toasted in the first place, mind you the sandwich was cold as well as it it’s been sitting up. I also told him that the two other people who I was with also said their sandwich was cold and not toasted but I was the only one who decided to ask for a redo. Well he continued to argue and convince me that MY SANDWICH was to his liking and not mine! As I waited the gentleman from the counter brought out my half of sandwich and he did have the courtesy and apologized. He apologized and the manager stood at the pickup counter looking over giving...
Read moreThe poor overall rating is due to questionable sanitary practices I saw while there yesterday (12/23). Here’s what I observed: one of the workers meticulously wiping down a sandwich with a stained, dirty looking towel, then turning around and wiping the counter with that same towel. After she wiped the counter, she noticed something else on the sandwich and then wiped the sandwich again with that same towel. At one point, another worker, a guy, stood over her waiting for the sandwich, watching her do this.
I can’t help but wonder how often do they do this, and why would they think it’s okay to wipe down sandwiches with a dirty towel and the counter with that same towel?
We drove over an hour to visit this place on account of a rave TikTok review. However, what good is amazing food if it could make you sick? I had already paid and we were waiting (my teenage kids and I). I told them what I saw and asked them if they wanted to leave. We opted to stay because thankfully this wasn’t done to every single sandwich (including our sandwiches) but how freaking disgusting and disturbing to watch. It did taint the experience, and I sincerely hope they stop this practice in the future.
Honorable mentioned also observed: not changing gloves when coming to the front to handle a customer issue - cross contamination - touching on other things then going back with those same gloves to...
