Pizza Shuttle — Restaurant in Topeka

My family never eats out. However, we are knee- deep in some remodeling and needed a convenient meal for dinner tonight. We decided to order pizza. I honestly cannot remember the last time we've had pizza delivered, it has to have been over 5 years! We decided to try Pizza Shuttle in an effort to support someone local. I hadn't heard of it, but my husband had seen the building the other day. I ordered at 4:09PM and was given an estimated delivery time of 5:09PM. As I waited for the pizza to arrive, I did some research and discovered this place is brand spanking new to Topeka. I had no idea. At 5:09, our pizza hadn't arrived. I figured with them being new, maybe they were working out some issues. At 5:15, I called the store to check the status of our order. The guy who answered the phone was unapologetic and informed me the delivery driver was running behind, but it would arrive soon. By 5:35, I was over it. My kids were screaming they were hungry, and I wasn't willing to wait any longer. I called the store again. I spoke with Charlie and asked him to please cancel my order. He said it was canceled and I would be refunded in 3-5 days. I went ahead and ordered pizza from Domino's down the street from our home. I went to go grab the pizza, and at 5:50, received a text from my husband saying Pizza Shuttle had shown up. My husband felt bad sending him away, but we weren't going to accept pizza for an order we canceled. I'm sure it was pretty cold by this point as well. I realize Pizza Shuttle is new, and I give grace for that. However, it was a horrible experience. The customer service was subpar, and the wait was ridiculous. I do not think we will be trying this...

Grew up eating this pizza in Lawrence. Pizza Shuttle has been a staple in that community as long as I've been alive, and I'm almost as old as dirt. They've been around that long because they serve a fresh, quality pizza at a very reasonable price...also in Lawrence they delivered practically all night which works out real well in a town full of college kids. Anyway, I digress.... I was super stoked they were coming to Topeka. I was not disappointed. Same great quality, super fresh, super fast pizza - in around 15 minutes for take out. Similar in style to Papa Johns, but homegrown, locally owned, and just better. Don't be dissuaded by some of the negative reviews on here. I suspect they were still working out the kinks . Grew up in Manhattan with Pizza Shuttle. Very happy when it came to Topeka, sadly the place has been a let down. First time ordering food, it was slightly over cooked, let that go because it had just opened. 2nd order was at a friends residence and some food was forgotten from delivery but we were charged for it. Took over 2 hours to get the remainder of the food. 3rd order was a call in and I repeated myself several times and the guy on the phone had issues with the order and he repeated it back and still got it wrong. When I went to pick it up, 4 employees sitting around socializing and playing on phones, one person cutting pizzas, only one person helping customers, told him the order was wrong and he pretty much put the mistake back on me with an apology only.
