WAITED OVER 90 MINS. ONLY SERVED 1/2 MEAL DUE TO SLOW SERVICE. MANAGEMENT NOT HELPFUL TO RESOLVE ISSUES.

Very disappointed with Ise-Shima and Miyako Hotel. My wife and I were excited for the renovation and reopening of Ise-Shima. We booked a table for 2 on 12/23/23 to celebrate her birthday and their grand reopening.

We each ordered the $150 Ise Course to experience the best they have to offer. The food that we did eat was very delicious but the service was not satisfactory at all.

We waited very long between courses, so long that 1 1/2 hours passed and we were not even served the main course. We expected to have completed our meal within 2 hours but we still had 5 more dishes including the main course that wasn't served yet.

My wife and I made plans expecting the meal would be finished on time but with how long they were taking we had to notify the manager that we need to leave to make it to our other engagement.

When I explained the situation the team went to check with the chef to see if there was anything they could do. The chef essentially said no, they cannot help because the food was not conducive to travel, they cannot pack it so I can take it with me.

I asked if I could stop the meal early and they also told me no. The only solution they offered was to serve the rest of the courses all at once.

The main course arrived we took a few bites but ultimately could not finish the rest of the meal because we lost our appetite after having to wait for so long.

We asked the staff to please pack whatever we could take with us, it was only the fruit and tart dessert from the menu.

Lastly we kept waiting for someone to come to our table to ask for the check but no one came. I had to walk to the front desk and ask them to please let me play my bill at the front.

I paid the full price of $330 and was only able to eat half of the meal because the chef and the kitchen were very slow.

The manager was not very accommodating or understanding of the situation and could only offer an apology as consolation.

I'm very disappointed because I enjoyed Ise-Shima in the past and have dined at the Miyako...

'm a bit torn as I write this review. Restaurant is located inside the Miyako Hybrid Hotel, right past the front desk. My dinner companion and I were greeted promptly on a Wednesday night with options of a booth or a open table, we opted for a booth. The waiter provided great service throughout our meal. Free edamame with a Yelp check in, but reception with all carriers is difficult. However, there's free wi-fi with no password needed.

We ordered a sashimi dinner combo and a tempura dinner combo. Sashimi pieces were as expected, fresh enough and no food poisoning later. I felt the tempura were quite oily and the batter was too thick. I actually pulled off the batter. However, I enjoyed the variety of different tempura veggies, my favorite being the okra.

The atmosphere of Ise-Shima really makes for a great date place, no loud music, spacious dining area = private/intimate conversations, and nice decor. Service was great, overall A-Ok! I just felt that the food and its quality were over priced compared to the competitors in the area, but perhaps we were paying for...

Food was just ok but the service make the food worse. We came here for birthday and I ordered the Omakase, the most expensive thing on there me with the Sake pairing but the service was very very slow, the restaurant is not even full. My friend got their food way before be and after they are finish I am still waiting for my sashimi, they even forgot to bring my last corse. Also, they keep forgetting my Sake pairing so I am always one or two Sake behind. The table next to us, I guess know the chief so they have VIP service and the manager are there all the time.

Over all I doesn't feel like the service you'll get from a Japanese restaurant worth with this...

A gem hidden inside the Miyako hotel. Service is attentive and warm. The food is presented beautifully and very high quality. Many of the meals come with unlimited access to the salad bar which has lots of fresh veggies, and miso soup as well. The restaurant is actually beautiful I can’t believe it took me this long to come here! It isn’t cheap, $20-35 meals, but with the salad bar and quality, it’s worth it. The matcha tiramisu that came with our meal was a pleasant and delicious surprise too. The daytime clientele are older Japanese folk as well as business people having lunch meetings. Parking is ample.

Loved it loved it loved it! The restaurant is beautiful!! We had an amazing waitress who recommended the beef appetizer,, and boy it was so good! Our waitress was very nice, and did a great job sealing in the 5 stars. The chefs cut thick cut sashimi, and made some killer Ramen! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! This is my favorite hotel to stay in when I go to Los Angeles, and because of the restaurant and the amazing showers, it's the only place I will stay. The rooms are spotless, and the restaurant is just as clean! Easy 5 stars! Thank you everyone for great food and service.
