MoMo Paradise is a great place to come to for an authentic Shabu dinner. There was a bit of a wait for us to be seated but it is completely understandable. The restaurant isn't very big and can only hold up to 98 in max capacity.
Once seated, we ordered the spicy miso and the sukiyaki broth, followed by two of each in the beef options. We made sure to order of the MoMo menu as it was our first time there.
Overall, it was a very delicious and filling meal. We all left more than satisfied and were happy to say that it greatly exceeded our expectations. I cannot say anything really stood out to me more than other menu items, but my friends really enjoyed the curry rice from the self-serve bar. Also the sodas they have at the dispenser are good too, with melon being the standout.
About halfway through the meal. We were able to switch up the broths and try new ones. We only made it to round two before tapping out and ordering some ice cream for desert. What I like about the ice cream they gave us was that they only give you one scoop which is just the right amount after having such a hearty meal.
One other thing I liked about this place was how friendly the workers were. They took their time explaining everything to us and made sure to answer all of our questions. They also constantly checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed! Thanks alot guys.
The restaurants itself was also really clean and I liked the lo-fi beats playing in the background while we ate. Truly a chill vibe to go with a...
Read moreMomo Paradise is one of my favorite spots. My family has always done shabu shabu with raw eggs and Iâm glad I can go here and do the same. I also prefer the AYCE option compared to many other hot pot places because it allows you to try the meats and then enjoy them over and over again. The vegetables in the self-serve bar always look very fresh. The meats are high quality and well portioned. The drink bar, which is available for an additional fee, has a cool selection of drinks with multiple teas and house sodas.
They have four options for soup base: shabu shabu, tonkotsu, tomato, and sukiyaki. Shabu shabu base is a very pure tasting broth that lets the flavors of the meat to shine. The tonkotsu broth is made with pork bones and have a smooth, silky taste. The tomato base is not overpowering but still not watery. The sukiyaki base is very strong, a little too much for my tastes. If you choose this, I recommend pairing it with the shabu shabu broth because you are also able to choose two bases per pot. With a party of four or more, youâll be looking at two pots. đ
Momo Paradiseâs staff are all great. Before eating they make sure you understand everything from the menu and how everything works. Theyâre also always polite from when youâre ordering dishes or just passing them...
Read moreFood/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - got the Shabu-shabu and Sukiyaki. The sukiyaki was salty even after water to dilute but it was great using it as a dipping sauce after cooking the ingredients. The shabu-shabu was wonderful and the gomadare (sesame sauce) was a perfect creaminess for the vegetables. All the meat cooked up wonderfully and since there is a different selection of how much marbling/fat, it has options for everyone. The vegetables were fresh but fewer selections than before, still enough to satisfy all wants. The drinks are separate cost so we just had water. We think the ice cream comes from Crystal Creamery and was just the right amount of sweetness to end the meal.
Ambience: 5/5 - soft jazz/elevator music made it comfortable to be there for an extended period of time. The store was clean and organized with clear signs with instructions of where to grab the tongs and return used items
Service: 5/5 - it was a bit difficult to hear the hostess during the initial conversation but she was friendly. The waiters were extremely attentive without being overbearing.
Value for price: 5/5 - $25.95 for lunch AYCE with $4.67 for service charge and $2.91 tax for total of $33.53. A bit pricier but worth it to hit all the...
