It's been years since I've been here. It was on the regular rotation for coworkers a few years back, but I had forgotten about it until the kid mentioned it by looking it up on Yelp! I also had forgotten to write a review back then. I believe I wrote one for the smaller location which has since closed. As I remembered, still a family-friendly, homey place. It's actually quite a large restaurant and looks like it would be great for larger groups. There's plenty of space. When you first walk in, it looks like a typical deli, turn to your right and you enter a spacious restaurant. The menu offers what else, the pastrami sandwiches. French dip, burgers, triple decker sandwiches, etc. I decided to split our sandwich and I was really too full to get the Matzo ball soup which I love. The potato salad condiment was SO delish. Usually, mayo-based side condiments are just creamy with not a lot of flavor and easy to dismiss. This one truly complemented our NY style pastrami. Note: the wine list had a decent list of very fair-priced wines. Service was quick and friendly. This place is ttruly underrated. My son devoured his burger. (Sorry,no photo) We'll be back! Parking lot has enough parking spaces.

It's like a trip to old New York. It's a good deli and one of the most authentic to an old school NY deli in Los Angeles (well, Torrance). The sandwiches are good, reasonably priced 16 for a standard 18 for a "NY high" (that's just cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw slapped on top) and 28 for a triple decker which looks pretty large and worth it. Matzah ball soup looks good (a little pricey at 12$) and the meats are all fresh and very good tasting. It ain't no Carnegie deli, but you don't have to fly to NY. the sandwiches aren't as huge here, but neither are the prices. It's an old place, with limited staff, but that adds to the charm. If you like NY style deli food, try this place it's one of the better ones out there. So I was so hungry, I didn't take a photo of the food. Next time I promise. Hey I remembered to photo first, scarf down my food next. Found out today that they charge per glass of lemonade (2.95 a glass). Doesn't say no refills anywhere. That's a bit pricey for some country time mix and water. Just beware.

I have been eating at New York Deli for years. Food is delicious. Unfortunately this review is 100% reflective of the staff and owner.

I ordered dinner, 4 amazing matza ball soups, a few pastrami sandwiches and a brisket sandwich. All of it was delicious. The order was placed through postmates and surprise, surprise, the postmate messed up and only got 1 soup. I contacted the store and let them know I would be stopping by to pick up the remaining soups.

Upon arrival I spoke with the guy at the front counter. I told him, after reviewing their menu, that the prices on postmates were not reflective of the actual process listed on their menu in the store. As I have always enjoyed the Deli I thought they should know they were missing out on 3$ per sandwich and 1.45$ per soup. As he handed me the soups, he told me that I needed to pay. I told him I already paid, and showed him my receipt, as well as the order I had placed. He called the owner over, and things went downhill.

The owner immediately stated the charge was not his problem, and I needed to pay full price for the soups, not just the difference. While I was a little frustrated I explained again that I had paid for the soup (6.50) already via postmates. Again, not his problem, I owe full price. I then asked for a piece of paper and a pen. I explained how he was selling each of the items I purchased via postmates at a loss. I then said I would even pay the difference for all of the menu items I ordered, rectifying the problem for him (he got all of his money, but I would only be paying the difference of $1.45 for each soup). After all this he said No. It's not his problem, he doesn't care about postmates, and he would require full price for soups I had already paid for.

I have made a point to support local businesses, but after the brazen disregard for a client who is voluntarily going to spend more money to fix a problem I didn't cause only to be told it was my problem and he didn't care... I can say sadly neither I, nor my family will be dining here again. The owner was disrespectful, argumentative, and antagonistic. He treated me like I was trying to swindle him, standing firm on what he ignorantly thought was "correct." So he ended up losing money (and will continue to do so because he was too ignorant to fix the problem with postmates) as well as long time supporters.

Such a disappointment that an establishment with such great food is operated by an incompetent,...

Weird vibe starting at the front door before we even walked in!..... portions on sandwiches Huge..not even kosher..hot dog was not kosher either plus the saurkrate was hot temperature wise.)..kinda weird to eat it like that..they served my kid his sandwich..and then asked me if I ordered and what it was? I could of sworn she took my order..we said it twice back to her.....then proceeded to serve 3 to 4 people after we sat......my kid finished eating and I had to get my order to go..what a joke...what did they do kill the meat in their kitchen ...it's a hot dog..lol....so rude with her expressions and tone because we didn't like their sides and she assumed it was huge deal if we had to pay extra for what we requested..she presumed us to be low class which actually is not the case we wanted good food and superior customer service..and you would think it would be there because everyone in there looks like they've been employeed well over thirty years! Not the case..they need to bump up their motivation and customer appreciation to match their over the top...
