Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Torrington

This location keeps getting worse and worse. When I first started going (around the time they first opened) it was decent. Portion sizes were good and food was hot. ⬇️⬇️

Now this location is straight GARBAGE 🗑️!!! Workers can’t even be bothered to smile, they don’t even talk to you, and don’t even get me started on the non cleanliness.

I got a burrito one time and as I pull it out of the bag it was covered in sour cream (which I never even ordered!) all over the wrapper and the burrito because the burrito was half way out of the foil. It got all over my hand, shit was soaking in it. If your gloves are that god damn dirty you’d think you would change em… but not at this location.

Another time my brother ordered a bowl asked for chicken and the worker added it to his bowl, my brother then asked for half of another meat and the worker scooped the chicken out of his bowl (which already had things in it) and put the chicken BACK IN THE HEATING TRAY!!! Some people don’t like certain things or are allergic so to put the chicken back that has been touching other things makes no sense. Are you guys that stingy with your portions..??? You’re training video specifically states to serve a HEAPING spoonful of whatever they choose.

There were two customers in the restaurant... a teenager and me. There was one (teen) guy serving/dishing the food. The teen in front of me orders two dishes. Another (teen) comes from the back and helps prepare the food too. The two teens prepping food were so invested in trying not to get caught stealing food for the guy in line(seemed like their friend) that they totally neglected the customer service. At this point, a line was forming behind me. I waited in line 10-15 minutes to order as they plotted and schemed on food theft. How do I know they were stealing? They were speaking loud enough for me to hear and understand what they were doing and BOTH workers took care of this "customers order". In that 10 -15 minutes I saw 5 workers and they were all male. Other things I noticed was one teen preparing food took out his phone with a gloved hand that was/is touching all over food. Teen mashed brownish guacamole to try to make it appear fresh. I go to Chipotle A LOT and I've never seen brownish guacamole waiting to be served. I will NEVER come back to this Chipotle again. They need better hires, better training, and...

I must be insanely lucky given that I’ve never had any major issues with my experience buying food here. Seeing A LOT of 1 ⭐️ reviews was actually a surprise to me. I go here so often that I have accumulating 12,000+ points in the app this Quarter at this specific location.

Some tips to anyone buying here: If you’re ordering on the app, pay close attention to the order ready status. There will be possible delay, but if you follow it, most of the time you’ll get your food as soon as you show up.

Its honestly a workaround that should be solved by the business, but if you want the least amount of friction, follow the order status and not the pickup time. Use the pickup time as a rough estimate, but allow 5 mins for room.

As for food, the qualities level for me is consistent, but the proportions vary. I always order the bowl, and always do pickup. Because of the static/consistent size of a bowl, you can always gauge your proportions if its less then usual.
