Dos Amigos — Restaurant in Torrington

Up till recently, this has been one my favorite restaurants to go to. The other night, we ordered some take out - long day, so we didn't feel like going in.

For one, it took me 30 minutes of trying to call to get someone on the phone to even place the order. That's just crazy.

When I finally did manage to get someone on the phone, the lady was very nice, polite, took my order and read it back to me. We ordered the Pollo AL Cameron, a large grande grilled pork quesadilla (with tomatoes and black olives. I made sure to tell her no sour cream with the quesadilla - it's a food allergy. We also ordered shrimp fajitas and a 3 combo enchilada meal. We also asked for extra guacamole and extra Pico as well.

My hubby went and picked up the food and brought it back home. The quesadilla did not have the added tomatoes or black olives, and there was sour cream as well - even though I specifically told them it was a food allergy. I did not receive any refried beans or Pico with my enchiladas. And there was no extra Pico or guacamole as we requested.

I called the restaurant and spoke to the nice lady who took my order. She said she would speak directly to the manager and get back to me. She even took my name and phone number. However, no one ever called me back. I even called the next day and asked to speak to a manager, only to be brushed off and told "they'd leave a note on the board and a manager would reach out to me". This is absolutely unacceptable and horrid customer service.

I can understand mistakes happen. And I was very polite and understanding with the staff I spoke with. But when I'm told not only once, but twice, that a manager will be in contact with me to discuss the issue and no one contacts me back, that is not okay. I paid cash for my meal and left tip, even though I didn't have to. I've been going to this restaurant for many years now and have never had issues like this... But now I don't think I'll be returning. After the blatant lack of customer service, the disrespect and disregard for even contacting me back, and the obvious lack of concern for aforementioned allergy issues, no thank you. I can find better, and will.

Dos Amigos - you've lost a long standing customer with me. Hopefully you remedy whatever staff issues you have going on there so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Or worse, so that someone doesn't get something they're allergic to and ends up having a...

Sunday afternoon . My experience at Dos Amigo’s was at best lackluster . I ordered the cheese enchilada and toco meal with refried beans . The beef in the toco was absolutely overcooked to the point of almost not being edible and the refried beans were almost liquid . No consistency whatsoever , but the worst thing was when I looked up I noticed spider webs and dust in the vent directly above my table . A very large accumulation . So disgusted I picked up my plate and moved to another table and told the waiter about the filthy mess in the vent . To my dismay he didn’t clean the vent but prepared the table for the next victim to be seated there . After moving I then noticed that it looked like someone sneezed with their mouth full because food remains were splattered on the wall and then the salt and pepper containers on the table had what I can only describe as food from someone’s hand smeared on the container . The waiter was not the least bit apologetic for my inconvenience but didn’t hesitate giving me the bill . No even offering any kind of discount for my negative experience . Please understand I very rarely give a negative review but this most certainly warranted one . I will never return to Dos Amigo’s...

Went here for my birthday dinner on 11/09 around 6:45p table of 7. My family walked in an we stood there for 10 minutes or so, no big deal! A young girl walked over and said " how many in your party"? I answered 7, she eye rolled in discuss! They put 2 table's together, not very busy, sat us down. Another young girl came over 25 minutes later and took our drink order! 25 more minutes we received our beverages and she took our order. She brought out really stale chips with over watery extra spicy salsa!! Food came out 30 minutes later cold, very poorly prepared. The pinch de Gallo was made with red chili flakes instead of jalapeños!! Way to spicy, and I can handle spicy, this was overbearing! My wife and kids food was the same, inedible.. I never complain or return my food, this time I said something to our server!! Didn't care never, came back to check on us until the check was in her hand.. she saw all the food on the table uneaten!
