I’ve given this place multiple tries and every time I get let down. It comes down to the blonde waitress who is there on Sundays. She’s ingenue, doesn’t want to work, acts tired, wants you to order right away and then will never come back to see how you are doing.
You have a better chance of the bus boy or a family friend that is sitting there eating also to fill your coffee or attend to your needs. It is no longer worth the money to be ignored. She needs to go and the owners KNOW IT but they are choosing a family friend over their customers; eventually the customers will become like me. The only thing we can do is not come back, tell others in town not to go anymore, and see if they will hopefully use a sad review like this to change…Or don’t.
I hate leaving a review like this cause I think the owner is a genuinely good man who cares about his customers but is stuck in a hard position when it comes to family and friends. When you hire friends and family, it’s really difficult to separate and be a good boss; I don’t envy...
Read moreI used to come to Hillary street diner and get amazing food. Fluffy thick French toast with fresh fruit. I figured I would order today but was iffy because I saw was under new management . Well I should have stuck to my gut feeling. The toast was burnt, homefries unseasoned. Omelette made with fake eggs and over cooked as well.. Then let's go to my plate I ordered. The French toast was thin pieces of bread plain soggy no flavor, no cinnamon no nothing just bread dipped in egg . I added fresh fruit on top and fresh was the last thing it was. Thin soggy slices of strawberries with sour blueberries .. Then to top it off I paid 3.50 each for two sides of sausage and I got 2 small frozen microwave sausage patties from the freezer isle at shoprite. I could have made all this better.. Absolutely horrible I don't know how you can run a business even care about a business and send food out like this. Total disgrace from what...
Read moreFood here is average. Today's experience was a joke. Walked in, sat at the counter. TWO waitresses, walked back and forth, never even acknowledged my existence. TWO gents came in after me, oddly, they were both given menus and utensils while I still sat there. Both were asked if they wanted coffee. Finally, like it was an afterthought, one sullen waitress put a menu and utensils in front of me. Mind you, no one has said a word to me yet. The gent next to me, who arrived after me, got his coffee. Needless to say, at that point it was time to leave, obviously they couldn't have cared less. I wouldn't recommend this place at all, for average food and no care for a...
