Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Totowa

I have spent many years coming to this restaurant and enjoying their sandwiches. I went with my kids and my husband. But as time has passed unfortunately; I have begun to see this restaurant crumble. I do not feel the same when I walk in. The sandwiches are stale, the vegetables swarming with flies, and the ambience dirty! I cannot believe this because after a long day of work I would always think “maybe I’ll get a sandwich at mikes so I don’t have to cook for my family when I get home”. The establishment has dead bugs along the windows and stained tables. They can’t even bother wiping them down?! I had grabbed a soda with my signature combo and realized the top of the soda had been drank! I asked about my half drank soda and was told the sodas were just “like that”. So it’s normal for a soda to be half drank? I let it go. But today I was so unsafe! After a long working day I just needed a sandwich from mikes to help with my overwhelming day. I went into the restaurant and waited over thirty minutes until my sandwich was prepared. The same dead bugs carcasses by the windows and the same dirty tables. Some woman had walked into the establishment and I could not make out what she was saying. But as I sat and ate my thirty minute late sandwich next to the dead bug carcasses I heard yelling. I turned, looked up from my sandwich, and some woman was yelling at the woman who had walked in. She was screaming and saying things like “oh is it that you guys never have anything?!? How do you guys not know how to run a business?!?”. I was so overwhelmed because I suffer from anxiety and as I started at the woman being yelled at all the customers around me felt so uncomfortable and unsafe. The woman was yelling and screaming at the customer and I felt so terrible for the woman being yelled at. But she took the yelling session and respectfully walked away. Something in me felt so terrible for her. I could see how the woman’s hurt her as she walked away. I then turned and realized the woman screaming at the top of her lungs was a worked and couldn’t formulate any source of reason for her outburst? It made me realize that humanity has become so unkind. I took my half eaten sandwich and threw it into the garbage. The soda I had received was room temperature! I left the establishment and realized how unsafe and dirty it is. I am done pretending like this place is what it used to be! How dare that worker yell at that customer like she was those dirty fly infested vegetables they serve everyone with their stale sandwiches! I will not be returning to this dirty restaurant and I encourage whoever reads this to do the same! I have never been one to write reviews but this had to be said. No human being deserves to be yelled like that. No one has the right to speak to another that way. Plus!! My sodas half drank, cockroach, flies, and dirty vegetables! I will not returning with my family to this horrible...

I’ve been coming to this jersey mikes for quite sometime but in the last 2 months I’ve only came twice and after today I don’t think I’ll be coming back at all the last time I went and today there’s this worker with braids he gives me this weird look as if he knows me and doesn’t like me but I don’t know him at all I go and order my sandwich he asks me what I want on it I tell him everything but tomatoes so I go to pay and as the lady is ringing me up he tosses the sand which on the counter and this is the second time he does this I personally think that’s rude to toss a sandwich on a counter like why can’t you just place it on the counter like a regular person but again I think this is done purposely with even more of a reason I take it to go and it probably explains why nobody is eating at the tables anyways I go to eat my sandwich and it has tomatoes I’ll understand if the store was busy and they forgot but the store was empty I was the only customer at the time again this was done purposely this makes the store not feel welcoming customer service is clearly out the door at this specific location I go to other jersey mikes and I don’t have this problem they know how to take orders...

So I went in yesterday morning with my wife to get a couple sandwiches for us now I really don’t do reviews like this but I have to for this. The lady in the front slicing the meat was very rude and loud the place was very dirty and they made our sandwiches horrible it’s like it was done bad intentions. The guy up front with the braids also was not professional and acted like he had a problem with me snatched my money out of my hand and then gave me my change back with an attitude not a thank you or anything he just gave us a bad look. All in all they all looked like they didn’t want to work and take my order so when I go home to eat it the sandwich was disgusting as well. The Jersey Mikes in Wayne are the best they are professional and very polite and their service is amazing. Totowa I definitely give you guys a zero star and also the place was dirty don’t have a clue of why was it that dirty but I will not be going back to this...
